These scammers are really well put together and kept calling me. They said they were from an address in SW18 4DP, but when I looked it up, it turned out to be just someone's flat above a café. I'm pretty sure they got my phone number and car details off Gumtree. They wouldn't stop ringing, really annoyed me.

I put an ad on Gumtree and then got a phone call about a car crash I supposedly had in the last three years. I could tell right away it was a scam but decided to waste their time by chatting for about 15 minutes, feeding them made-up details. They said a lawyer would ring me back and asked for my NI number, passport copy, proof of address and all that. Seriously, don’t get caught out by these people!

I had a similar thing happen. Posted an ad on Gumtree and got a call from someone with an Indian accent. When I told them I hadn’t been in any accident, they tried to convince me I could claim money from people who aren’t even in the UK anymore. I told them it sounded dodgy and asked for an email confirmation. They just hung up on me 😂😂

Looks like they got my phone from my Gumtree ad or sumthin, coz they called sayin I’d been in an accident. I just told ’em I’d died in it haha. Was funny when they actually asked if I was alright now 🤣. Best way to mess with these lot!

This happened to me as well - I put up an ad on Gumtree and didn’t realise I’d put my phone number in by mistake. Not long after, I got a call asking if I’d been involved in an accident, which was totally out of the blue. I then told them to take my info off their system since it’s against EU data protection rules to keep my number like that.

Same happened to me! I posted an ad on Gumtree, then a couple of minutes later this number rang me. My phone was on silent so I didn’t answer at first. Later I tried calling back since it showed as a landline, but the call just kept busy. That felt a bit dodgy. Honestly, I should’ve guessed straight away - who actually uses landlines these days?

Got a call from someone with an Indian-ish accent claiming they were from a company called Claim Online, said they'd help with a car crash case. They kept going on about being based in London but when I said I'd already spoke to a lady from that company, he insisted there weren’t any women in their team - so he couldn’t be in the UK then. Oddly, the number only appeared on Gumtree. Definitely felt like one of those dodgy scam calls.

Some bloke from claims called me about an accident supposedly from last year. He was a guy, didn't have an Indian accent or nothing, but honestly, he was pretty rude. Called me by my first name straight away and didn’t bother saying please when asking for me. It really annoyed me! Got a call from some "claims investigation" team or whatever. They said they were from London, but honestly sounded like an Indian call centre. They had my name and address and were asking if I’d had any accident in the past three years. Accident? I was like, what? They said “someone” told them about it. Who on earth?
