Heads up everyone!!! I got a call from these people claiming I owed VAT for our business. They said my passport, driving licence, and bank cards were frozen and that I was about to face court action. I was about to pay, but my bank looked into it and told me it was all a scam. Thankfully, the payment got stopped just in time. Don’t fall for it or send them any cash!!

Got a call from this number last night, and honestly, it was quite alarming. If someone who’s vulnerable answered, they could easily have been tricked. The people behind this number really ought to be held accountable because the language they used was pretty intimidating. They didn’t mention Sarah Wilson, but instead said Officer Patel, so that’s another name to add to the list.

Do NOT pick up or ring back this number, it's a total rip off. Like others have said, there’s a recorded message with a really fake American accent pretending to be HMRC. It tells you to get a solicitor fast and threatens prosecution if you don’t return the call. They keep saying "Don’t ignore this message" and stress they’re HMRC. Then at the end, out of nowhere, they say "Have a nice day!!" which just sounds bizarre. Just block it and move on.

This number rang me earlier and I believe they were after someone called Zack, but I can't be totally sure. It was an automated message claiming to be Sarah Wilson from HMRC, saying if you don't ring back there might be legal trouble. I got a voicemail from this number claiming to be HMRC, telling me to ring back right away about some tax I supposedly owed. Since I actually do have tax dues, I called back out of curiosity. A bloke answered and seemed to know who I was, even asking if my solicitor was there with me. I immediately suspected it was a con, but I wanted to see their spiel. He insisted I owed tax and threatened legal action. I told him I’m paying through monthly instalments. He said, “Okay, don’t stress, I’ll check and get back to you” then just hung up. These scammers really need to be caught!

I've been getting calls from these lot almost every day, at least a couple times, but it's always different numbers. I block 'em straight away but it doesn't stop them ringing. They leave messages saying I need to call back or there'll be some legal trouble. This has been happening since May and it's really getting out of hand now.

They claimed to be from HMRC and talked about legal trouble, which felt really dodgy. I’m pretty certain the tax folks would have sent out some letters before jumping straight to court threats. Also, when I tried ringing that number back, it wouldn’t go through at all, which I reckon is illegal for any legit company or call centre. Definitely didn’t feel right.

Got a call earlier claiming I owed £2950 to HMRC and that there’s a warrant out for my arrest. I’m on strong meds and almost got fooled at first. Thankfully I kept him chatting till I calmed down and stopped panicking. He said he’d ring back Monday at 9am - can’t say I’m looking forward to it. I’ve already contacted HMRC, the cops, and reported it to the fraud hotline. Everyone should do the same because the police are apparently gathering evidence against these scammers.

Got a ring today from someone claiming to be from HMRC. Funny thing is, they had an American accent and started telling us we were under investigation for tax fraud, asking for our lawyer's info. They tried to scare me but it didn’t work. Spoke to my accountant afterwards who confirmed it was a scam designed to trick you into paying a bogus bill before any so-called legal stuff happens. FYI, HMRC always contacts you by letter first, never by phone.
