Whenever I pick up the phone, I always have this long speech I go through. Most times, as soon as I finish, the caller just hangs up. It’s pretty common when it’s one of those scams.

Some bloke rang me about a book for learning. He claimed I’d already agreed to it, so I had no choice but to proceed. When I asked if it was some sort of scam, he got all aggressive and warned me not to badmouth their company. I just chuckled and ended the call.

Got a call from 02038074325, some guy asking for my husband. When I asked his name, he just said Alwyn and told me he'd ring back on Monday. Sounds dodgy, right? Wondering if anyone else has had the same call?

Got a call from a guy with really clear English, said he was working on a government-backed scheme to get books into schools. Asked how much money they've spent on it, but he couldn't give a straight answer. When I wondered if it might be a scam, his reply was something like, "I don't suppose so." Cheers for the honest-ish answer, I guess.

I got a call like this just now, some lady was thanking me for helping with an educational booklet and said she’d be sending one my way. When I told her I had no clue what she meant, she just cut the call off. Seems like a total scam to me.

I got a call from someone saying they were part of an education campaign. I hung up and blocked the number because it seemed dodgy. About a month ago, I got hit with a similar call, where they said they were running a local educational safety project. They told me I’d already agreed to sponsor some school booklet ages ago, then sent a bill for it. When I said I couldn’t afford it, they said the government had given covid relief money so I only needed to pay half. I ended up reporting it to the cops and Action Fraud. Be careful, it’s definitely a scam!

Got a call from someone who said my name and thanked me for help I supposedly gave them. Definitely not me, must be a mistake or wrong number. They hung up quick - watch out, might be a scam!

It’s so annoying! They kept calling me every few minutes, like literally every 5 minutes. When I finally picked up, they just immediately ended the call. So frustrating.
