Got a call from someone faking being from the tax office. I told them my hubby's a cop, and they hung up sharpish. Sorted out by blocking the number using BT Call Protect now.

I got a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC, warning that if I didn’t call back, there would be serious trouble. Really creepy and unwelcome stuff.

Totally a HMRC scam, no doubt about it. The people on the other end have terrible English and get pretty nasty and aggressive as soon as you call them out, saying stuff like ‘you feckin English’. If you’ve got some free time and fancy a laugh, it’s actually quite entertaining dealing with them! Proper good fun.

I got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, saying if I didn’t ring them back, I'd face really bad consequences. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent claiming to be Jerry Robinson. He gave me a reference number and said I was being called to court over tax fraud. When I asked why I hadn’t received any official letter from HMRC or the courts, he couldn’t explain. He also couldn’t confirm any of my personal info like my NI number or if I have a middle name, which seemed fishy. I asked for his reference number so I could check with HMRC if he was legit, but he got annoyed and hung up on me. Definitely a scam, watch out!

I got a scary voicemail from this number, so I just decided to block it. From what I’ve heard, HMRC wouldn’t be sending threats like that. Definitely felt dodgy to me.
