10 yearsThis situation brings to mind a moment when Verdy urged me to endorse a cheque exceeding £3000 for PPI. Quite suspect, I must say-this David Rogers character raises a few eyebrows!VerdyDavid Rogers10 yearsI received a phone call from someone who purported to be with the Financial Conduct Authority, insisting that a windfall from my PPI claim was on its way-over £3,000, no less! He mentioned it was linked to some mortgages I’d had ages ago. To be clear, I never filed a PPI claim at all. The caller suspiciously told me that someone would be arriving at my home to hand over the cheque, which I’d need to sign for. When I pressed him for his name and a contact number, he introduced himself as David Rogers, but his accent didn’t quite match up, and he wouldn’t provide the last four digits of his phone number. I’ve got my suspicions about this being a scam. I’m definitely going to report this to both the Financial Conduct Authority and the police.Financial Conduct AuthorityDavid RogersSubmit Your Own Report (020 3807 1956)
