Got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming to be from some market research firm, saying they weren't trying to sell anything. I explained I look after the person who owns the house and that they're signed up with the TPS. He said that didn’t matter since this wasn’t a cold call. I insisted it was, and anyway, I couldn’t pass him on because of the homeowner’s age. When I asked him to take her number off their list, he got pretty hostile, saying he "had every right" to call. So, I just ended the call.

I got a call from someone who sounded Asian, and you could hear that busy call centre buzz in the background. They asked straight away for my wife by her first name, which seemed off. What really put me on edge was how much personal info they had - we’ve been ex-directory for ages and signed up on the TPS, so this was a bit dodgy. Got another call from someone with an Asian accent, annoying as ever. The bloke asked if I was the “lady of the house” but I told him I’m not a lady so just buzz off and don’t bother calling again. They must ring me about five times daily, and every single time I tell them to stop. Today at 5.51pm, I got a call from this number. The person on the line spoke with an Asian accent and was asking for someone specific by name. Had a call earlier today around 3:49pm, a bloke with a funny accent rang me up. He said hello and asked how I was, then went on to say he worked for some company and needed to ask me a few questions. I was anticipating a call from a friend. To my annoyance, there was complete silence on the other end before a recording chimed in, stating, "The other person has cleared." What an absolute bother! Just another silent call from a call centre, I reckon. One can only hope their employer occasionally peruses these reviews to see the calibre of the rather inept individuals they’re hiring!

It seems I've been contacted by a firm that conducts surveys for the public. Here’s the deal: I received a call today, 31 March 2016, from a woman with an Indian accent. When I requested her to remove my number from their list, she claimed that she sourced it from a public database. Quite strange, as my number is supposed to be private! Just thought I’d share this in case it’s of any assistance to someone else. 😊
