They ring me loads, sometimes up to three times a week, and often from different numbers so the last four digits keep changing. Always claiming it’s some survey, even tho I’ve told them to quit calling me. I’m on the do-not-call list and my number’s ex-directory, but they ignore that by saying it’s a survey, not a sales pitch. It’s so annoying, the government really needs to do something to stop these pest calls!

Do not even bother picking up these calls. If you do, they just share your number with a bunch of other scammers. The number they use is either fake or bought from dodgy phone companies here in the UK. Most of these calls come from India (0203, 0207, 0208). The TPS can’t do anything about them. Make sure you have caller ID switched on and invest in a call blocker. I use a BT8500 and have blocked all those London-style numbers (luckily I don’t know anyone with those numbers). The rubbish calls have dropped from about 6 a day to maybe 1 or 2 a week, and they’re blocked one at a time.

I've been getting calls from some guy in India, and it's been non-stop on my landline the past week. Today I finally told him politely to take my number off his list. He kept saying "I'm only trying to help", but I told him the only help I want is for him to stop calling because it’s just harassment. Had to repeat that half a dozen times. Got fed up and told him that once I ask, legally they have to remove my number. He just said again he was trying to help, said goodbye and hung up. Not sure if he actually will remove my number or if the calls will keep coming. I'm ex-directory plus signed up for TPS and Silent-Gard, so any automated calls from UK numbers should be blocked. Since these calls aren’t stopped, they’re probably coming from overseas. It’s such a sneaky way to keep pestering people!
