I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC about some supposed illegal stuff linked to my National Insurance number. When I asked them to explain what exactly was going on, all they kept saying was "illegal activity on your NI number." I told them I'd just hang up and ring the official HMRC number myself to get the real details. After that, they just ended the call straight away. Felt really dodgy to me.
