Received a dodgy call earlier today. I tend to indulge a bit when these sorts of telemarketers ring me up. This time, it was a woman who was speaking at quite the pace-hardly caught a word she said! Eventually, after prompting her a couple of times, she revealed she was representing a place called Accident Advice (or some other nonsense). I inquired if she was attempting to pull a fast one on me, but she dodged the question and pressed on about whether I’d had any mishaps. I told her to answer my question first, to which she chirped that she wasn’t scamming me. So I cheekily asked her if she even knew my name. Of course, she didn’t. I then suggested she might want to find a proper job instead of harassing random folks for a con. She retorted with a “You too,” and I shot back, “Actually, I do have a proper job-unlike you, who’s just fishing for personal information.” And with that, she slammed the phone down.
