Got a call around 11.25 in the morning on 30/03/22 from a woman with a strong Indian accent, saying she was from Amazon. She told me a £650 smartphone was bought on my account. I said I don’t even have an Amazon account. She kept insisting “We have your info,” so I asked, “Oh yeah? What info do you have then?” There was a long pause and then silence. I told her she was a scammer and asked how she could live with herself stealing from others. Then she just hung up. Total con artists.

BEWARE! I received a call from a woman with a strong Indian accent on the 30th of March 2022, precisely at 11:25 in the morning. She claimed to be representing Amazon, stating that a £657 smartphone had been ordered using my account earlier that day. I knew straight away that it was a scam since I don’t even have an Amazon account. When I challenged her, she insisted, “No, this is Amazon, we have your information.” Curious, I asked her to specify what details she had. There was a prolonged silence after that! I confronted her, calling her a fraud and questioning how she could live with herself, deceiving innocent individuals for a living. She abruptly hung up on me. This is a classic scam designed to lure you into turning on your computer and following their dubious instructions so that they can remotely lift your passwords from Pakistan and rob you blind!

Definitely a scam! Make sure you report any dodgy calls or texts straight to the police fraud site. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head over to the ‘police.uk’ website. Find the ‘report phishing attempt’ section and take a good look at all the info provided before adding the details of the scam. Don’t forget to include any links or web addresses you’ve seen. You don’t need to sign up or give personal info. Reporting stuff like this is how the police get the full picture of how bad these scams really are.

There’s a couple of comments here about how to put an end to all the scam calls. It’s gonna take some work, but I’ve already started and keep flagging scam calls and texts to the police database (I bookmarked the link). Thing is, it’ll only make a difference if thousands do the same. Every day loads of folk report scams on this website. I got a reply from my MP, which was quite informative, but honestly, it needs way more than just one person raising concerns before any proper action takes place.

A woman claimed to be calling from Amazon saying there was some sort of security problem with my account. Apparently, someone in Devon had placed an order for a phone and altered the delivery address. She asked me to look at my emails, which I was already doing when she rang. Got a call from a guy saying he was with Amazon's fraud team. He actually knew my name, but didn’t have any other info. Said there was a smartphone bought on my Amazon account, which was news to me.

Got a call claiming to be from Amazon security about a weird purchase of £600 the night before. I only said hello, but I could hear other voices in the background asking the same thing. Then he just suddenly ended the call.

It really seemed like it was coming from a call centre, loads of noise in the background, although I can’t say for sure if that was genuine. The bloke on the line said his name was Alex and claimed a guy called Mr Thompson was attempting to buy an iPhone using our Amazon account info. I caught on quickly that it was probably a scam. When I asked him exactly what info they’d tried to use, he just ended the call.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Amazon’s Security team, claiming there had been some dodgy dealings involving an iPhone order. They then attempted to get remote access to my computer by insisting I log into...247supp... At that point, I figured it was clearly a scam and wasn’t about to fall for it.

This morning, I received a phone call from a gentleman with an Asian accent, who claimed my Amazon account had been hacked by someone based in Devon. According to him, this individual had purchased a smartphone using my account, and I was unable to view the transaction details. He requested that I perform some tests on my computer, to which I refused and promptly ended the call. However, he rang me back immediately, adamant that my account was in jeopardy. I told him to go ahead and cancel it as I’ve decided to stop using Amazon altogether. He then hung up on me. My Amazon account remains active, but as a precaution, I’ve changed my password.

Got a call this evening from a lady with a super strong Indian accent. She somehow knew my name as well. I told her I was actually deceased and she was chatting to my ghost right now!!!

A bloke rang up claiming to be from Amazon and even had my postcode plus my landline number. He told me someone in Devon had been using my account to make payments. He said I'd received an email from Amazon and asked me to check it while he waited - which obviously I hadn’t. I told him I don’t even live here, I was just minding a mate's dog at this address. He got quite annoyed and was pretty rude, then said he’d call back later.

Got a call from a woman with what sounded like an Asian accent claiming she was from Amazon. She said some pricey phone was bought using my bank account. Since I don’t even have an Amazon account, I told her she was trying to scam me. After that, her tone got a bit rude and then she just hung up on me.

I received a call from a chap with a distinct accent, and there was a fair bit of chatter in the background, sounding like a call centre. He claimed to be from the Amazon security team, insisting that my account had been flagged due to some suspicious activities. He mentioned they had sent me an email regarding the matter, but when I inquired about which email address they had used, he was unable to provide that information. This just reinforced my doubts about the authenticity of the call. These con artists really get my goat, especially since he managed to reel off my full name.

Got a call from 02037697984, some guy with an Asian accent saying he was from Amazon Security. My missus called him out and said it sounded like a scam, and he just cut the call straight away. Then, he rang again from 0033224364 but hung up as soon as my wife answered. Pretty sure it was the same dodgy trick.

I checked right away, but there was nothing from Amazon, not even a dodgy email. Just to be safe, I switched my password anyway. Still not sure what the scam was since he never asked for any details.

I received a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming someone attempted to purchase a smartphone using my Amazon account. He told me to check my laptop and press some random button. While I was fiddling with my computer, my wife grabbed the phone and asked for his number. He told her to put him back on. When I refused to press anything, I just ended the call. Later, I dialled 1471 and noticed he was still connected, so we just left it alone.
