I was struggling with a sore throat when this chap inquired if I was in discomfort. I found it amusing and ended the call with a chuckle. To my surprise, he rang me back, wanting to know why I found the situation so funny. I explained, quite apologetically, that I wasn’t well with Covid. Instead of showing sympathy, he fancied I was spinning a yarn and said he wished I would succumb to the illness. Quite an odd response, wouldn’t you say?
