I got a call from a bloke named Ryan Armstrong claiming to be from SynceptRecovery.co.uk. He said their job was to hunt down scammers and help folks get their money back. He brought up companies like Prowell Financial and some old ones like Shore Capital, mentioning dodgy share trades involving MCT and DOR. Apparently, they want a fee upfront to handle the claim and might also take a cut later if they recover anything. Funny thing is, their site has only been online for about a week and a half.

Got a call from someone saying they're looking into fraud payments linked to Prowell Financial for one of their clients. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.

It was some so-called life insurance company from the UK. I didn't even let them get a word in properly. Just said nicely I wasn't interested, and they ended the call pretty quickly.

I’ve heard from Sky that my contract’s nearing its end. I asked them to send me a letter, but apparently, they had already done that. They mentioned that they would cut the charges on the service contract but warned that if I didn’t take action immediately, they’d go ahead and terminate it. I insisted they send a letter since my contract was still active, and I pointed out that they shouldn’t require any specifics to amend the fees. On top of that, I received a second call from a woman with a rather Chinese accent, ringing from a London number. Quite puzzling, really!

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from SKY. They asked if I wanted to renew my TV insurance and warned me I’d be charged £79.99 if I didn’t stick with the contract. Thing is, I never had TV insurance and definitely didn’t make any payments back in early 2019 like they said. Pretty sure it was a scam, so I’ve blocked the number and reported it to Action Fraud.

Recently, I received a phone call on my home phone from a chap claiming to be with Sky. He insisted that my payment hadn’t processed and urged me to settle it immediately. So, I decided to play along, pretending to be a rather confused elderly lady who couldn’t quite hear him. I strung him along for a good ten minutes, and then kept him hanging on while I allegedly searched for my debit card. In the end, I told him to shove off! It was definitely a con.

This number belongs to scammers. If you don’t play along how they expect, they get really rude and shout at you. Their goal is to get you to go to a website and put in a session ID, which lets them take control of your computer. Seriously, don’t ever do that. When I told them I wasn’t interested, they started shouting profanities. This is straight up criminal, preying on folks who aren’t savvy with internet safety. Honestly, these people are the worst kind, sneaky and nasty, trying to con others like this.

I received a rather peculiar call from a woman claiming to be from Sky, insisting that I required breakdown cover. Strangely enough, I hadn’t provided her with any of my details, which seemed to fluster her quite a bit. Her tone turned rather sharp, and she appeared to be quite angry. There was an accent, possibly Chinese, but I couldn't be sure. I decided to hang up, only for her to ring back incessantly. When I finally took the call again, she accused me of disconnecting the line and threatened me with a charge of £58.99 for breaching some supposed contract. Honestly, I’m baffled… what contract was she on about?
