I tried calling 02037695992 and when you ring them back there's some American accent saying the number’s been disconnected. Then it goes on about entering a contest to win 500 DOLLARS. Definitely seems like another dodgy scam to me.

Most of the time these calls are just folks trying to push some dodgy appliance warranty that you really don’t need, or worse, they’re after your bank info or, even more likely, your card details. The scary thing is, once you hand over your card number, expiry date, and CVV to a stranger on the phone, they can pretty much spend from that card however they like. Good luck trying to get a refund when the bank just says you willingly shared your details with someone else.

I recently received a call from this number and was greeted by a woman who informed me that the warranty on my fridge freezer had run out. I patiently explained to her no less than four times that I don’t actually have one of those appliances. Eventually, I ran out of patience and told her to try scamming someone else or perhaps find herself a decent job.

Answered the call but all I got was silence for about 15 seconds. Tried calling back, and a recorded message said, "Sorry, the service you’re trying to reach is unavailable." Pretty sure I’ve had calls like this from this number before.

Yesterday, I got a call from this number; some bloke was trying to persuade my elderly dad, who's 80, to buy an extended warranty for his fridge-freezer. Dad handed me the phone, and I told the guy we don’t have any separate warranty as the appliance was bought ages ago and our house insurance covers its contents anyway. That was that, call ended. Looking back, I kinda wish I’d told him to wait while I grabbed my credit card and then just ignored the call so he’d be the one wasting time for once!

I noticed after a while that the calls started coming just as I got back home from work, so now if my phone rings anytime after 3 in the afternoon, I usually just let it go to voicemail since everybody important has my mobile number. Sometimes I answer but stay silent, and they quickly put the phone down.

Got a call from some bloke with a thick Cockney twang, sounded pretty impatient. He wanted to talk to the tenant who’s passed away. I told him I was a family friend, and he just went, “Alright then mate, no worries,” and cut off quick as that.

I received a rather unexpected phone call earlier today from someone claiming that the warranty on our ancient freezer - which must be nearing its 20th birthday - had expired and insisted that it needed renewing. The chap became quite confrontational when I politely declined his offer, and I eventually had to hang up on him. Quite the nuisance, really!

A rather articulate gentleman rang us up to let us know that the warranty on our washing machine was nearing its end, claiming they could extend it for a decent price. The reality is, our warranty lapsed quite some time ago! Just as we were about to express our disinterest, they abruptly ended the call.

I received a rather odd call recently where some chap named James informed me that my TV warranty had lapsed. I found this puzzling, given my television happens to be a Sony with a solid five-year warranty. He quickly backtracked, claiming it was actually my Hotpoint washing machine that was the issue - quite funny, considering it's a Samsung! He droned on with all sorts of nonsense before eventually asking for my bank details, including sort code and whatnot. I decided I’d heard enough and promptly ended the call.

Couple days ago, got a call claiming they were doing some market research. I thought it was dodgy and gave them made-up info about a washing machine - brand, age, even power source. After that, they rang back twice trying to push an extended warranty on the fake appliance and even tried to flog some cheap electrical stuff using the bogus details. Totally a scam in my book. Best not to engage with surveys from cold calls no matter how nice they sound, it’s just a trick for scammers to start with. Frank Abagnale.

I received a call while I was visiting my elderly mother. The caller claimed that the warranty on a Hotpoint washing machine had just expired today. I had to inform them that our washing machine is actually a Bosch and is still under a year old! I mentioned that my brother had bought the appliance, and should the warranty be an issue, he’d handle it himself. Unfortunately, they ended the call before I could clarify that it’s not a Hotpoint!

Got a call about my washing machine warranty, and when I asked questions about my bank info, the guy got all rude. I wanted to talk to his manager, but he just said he was the manager himself! Definitely steer clear of this number.

I picked up the phone straight away when it rang, said hello but there was only silence on the other end. I could tell someone was listening, but I didn’t say anything else. I reckon they must have heard my phone alarm going off in the background. After waiting quietly for a bit, the call just got cut off. It’s frustrating how these people never seem to get tracked down or stopped.

I received a rather curious phone call from someone identifying himself as James Foster, who claimed that my television warranty had lapsed and that his company could sort out a renewal for me. He went on to explain that they closely track the sales of every television across the nation, which is how they were supposedly aware of my situation. He assured me there would be no charge until January 27th and offered to provide me with a contact number should I have any questions. Then, he casually inquired whether my bank account was under my name and asked for my sorting code-typical tactics, really. However, he mispronounced my name, and just to clarify, I don’t even own a TV! When I dialled the number he gave me, a woman answered but didn’t disclose any company information. I distinctly heard James chattering away in the background. It’s astounding how persistent these individuals can be, isn't it?

Got a call from a bloke with an English accent trying to sell me an extended warranty for my TV, even tho it's still covered under the original warranty. When I asked him which company he was calling from and told him giving out wrong info could break the Data Protection Act, he got pretty rude.

While I was away for work, I got a call from this number about my Samsung TV. I had no clue what she was going on about, so I asked if it was some kind of warranty I had to pay for now, she said 'no'. I then said I didn't want anything, and as I tried to get more details, she just cut me off and hung up. Really odd experience.

I received a call from a rather articulate gentleman who informed me that my television had surpassed its warranty period. When I asked him to send the details in writing, he replied that this wasn't how he usually operated. I insisted that it suited me just fine, which prompted him to abruptly hang up. The sophistication in his accent certainly elevates this encounter compared to the typical scam calls one receives from overseas, and I can easily see how some individuals might be taken in by such a ruse.

I've been on the receiving end of this number a few times now - in fact, they rang me again just moments ago, making it the third time today alone. It's rather peculiar, to say the least; I've picked up on some office chatter in the background during one call, yet at other times, there's been utter silence. It’s either unsettling, bothersome, or strikes me as a bit dodgy, potentially even unlawful?
Is there really a chance these individuals are being compensated for their rather irritating interruptions?
