They mentioned sorting it all out during the call and passed me over to another person to wrap things up, saying I’d get a bill shortly. Somebody rang me up saying they’d send out new gear to block spam calls or whatever. When I asked who they were, they claimed they handled my phone line’s security. Just had a call from a number I didn’t recognise, but as soon as I picked up, they just went silent and ended the call. Seems like a waste of time. I’m defo blocking it now after checking out this website.

I got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, with loads of background noise like she was in some busy call centre. She started talking about some call blocking service and even knew my address! I didn’t bother wasting time tho, told her to buzz off and ended the call straight away.

This woman rang me up knowing my name and where I lived, then claimed they’d be installing a call blocker on my landline in a couple of weeks. She never mentioned any charges though. I told her straight I wasn’t interested, but she kept pushing, saying it was to stop scam calls. After a bit of back and forth, she finally gave up.

I got a call from someone named Mary who said they were about to send me a code to lock my phone. I just hung up straight away. A couple of days before, I had a call pretty much the same as this one.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent claiming she could send me some sort of gadget to block all those annoying calls, saying she was really clued up on the subject. But when I mentioned the Telephone Preference Service and asked why she hadn’t checked if my number was even allowed to get her call, she had no clue what I was talking about. Bit odd, to say the least!

They phoned my old dad who struggles to hear properly. He thought it was BT as they had all his info and told him they’d post out a call blocker. Then they asked if he was retired, saying he’d qualify for a pensioner discount and only owe £179. Luckily, I was nearby and heard it through the speakerphone, so I jumped in before anything went wrong. The number’s blocked now. Watch out for this sort of scam!

Got a call from a woman named Mary, sounded like she was from England. She said it was about my landline and mentioned something about sending me a callguard blocking service. I wasn’t having any of it, told her straight up she was trying to scam me, then she just hung up. She’s called back twice already in the last half hour.

An elderly woman I care for, who has dementia, has been getting multiple calls from this so-called "call guard" firm. Just last week, the same number rang and I picked up since I'm her carer. The person on the line kept trying to talk to the woman herself, but I was wary and said no. She claimed she was from call guard and wanted to speak to the homeowner. When I asked for more details, she said they could offer a gadget to stop nuisance calls. I turned down the offer straight away. Then she mentioned she'd send something through the post instead. Watch out for these people!

Was by the phone when it rang, grabbed it straight away, but as soon as I answered, silence. The number started with 02, so prob London or just a fake. Seems dodgy to me, defo one of those scams. Bit of a shame though, cos I enjoy messing with these scammers or telling them off proper.

Got a call from some random number so I didn’t tell them my name, I never do. I always ask who’s on the line first. Lots of times they just launch into some dodgy sales spiel but this one kept pushing, asking if I was Mr D…….. Got a call from someone claiming to offer phone security against scams, but they already had some of my personal info and my address. Felt off straight away, so I just blocked the number without hesitation. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

as soon as i answered, the caller started mentioning my full name, address and postcode, saying they were trying to "secure" my landline. i got a bad feeling right away and refused to confirm anything. after i kept shutting down their questions, they just hung up. it was obvious to me it was a scam from the start. trust your instincts with calls like this and always think twice about why they’re ringing you. never share more than the details they already have, which are probably easy to find online anyway. best to just end the call and block the number if possible.

So a lady called saying she'd send us this blocker for pesky calls. The minute I told her "aren't you one of those annoying callers?", the phone just rang off. Guess that was a yes then.

Watch out for calls from 0203 7695084, looks like a scam to me. The person on the phone told me they wanted to send me a free gadget that stops unwanted calls. Then they hit me with the catch - because of my age, I could get a discount, bringing the price down to £179 as a one-time deal. I decided to drag the conversation out since I had time, just to waste their efforts. The caller was polite and sounded quite different from the usual scammy accents you hear. Seems like these fraudsters are getting smarter, so please stay super careful, folks!

Got a call claiming that since I'm retired, I could get a free upgrade on my phone line to block all those annoying scam calls. Seemed alright at first. But when they handed me over to the manager, they asked for my payment info. I immediately told them to send me something in writing to explain everything and then hung up. Never give out your payment details over the phone, seriously. Watch out for this number!
