Got a call claiming it was the inland revenue saying I’m under investigation for tax fraud. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. After reading other comments, I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be with Sky, said my insurance was about to expire and I had to cough up £96 for the year. He kept pushing me to give my bank info. I said I was with Virgin instead (which isn’t true) and then he just hung up on me.

At around 11 in the morning, I got a call from a guy with a Scottish accent. He rings me yearly to warn me that my Sky Sports subscription’s nearly expired. I always tell them I don’t even have Sky Sports. The bloke sounded genuinely shocked. If you ring back, you just get a crappy recorded message about your Sky subscription and it asks you to leave a message. The key word you need to say right after is “off”.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from Sky. She told me my Sky equipment maintenance plan was up for renewal. I told her I didn’t have any such plan. She insisted that I did, and that she was calling straight from Sky, not some outside company. I just said no, I don’t have it and wouldn’t want it even if I did, then ended the call.

Watch out for this number, they ring up real pushy and hostile. Twice now, someone claiming to be from SKY TV called me, saying our breakdown cover was about to run out and tried to pressure me into signing up for a new deal. The first time, I said I'd have to double-check as my partner handles the bills. Sure enough, we looked into it and found no such policy was active. They called again today, and when I calmly said we weren't interested, the caller got really nasty and rude.
