I got a call like all the others people mentioned yesterday. I thought the call preference service would stop this, but it clearly doesn’t. These scammy numbers should be blocked somehow. Seriously, don’t reply to any of their texts!

I got a call from this same number recently. They claimed to be from HMRC and said I needed to call them back immediately to avoid legal fees stacking up. They said it was my final warning. When I picked up, it was obvious it was an automated message. I was suspicious straight away but still felt a bit uneasy. The message never mentioned my name but kept saying, “this message is for you, yes you.” After reading various stories on this site, I’m starting to think they might be aiming at older folks. I’m in my late sixties myself. It’s reassuring to see this site has flagged the number as a scam because other sites haven’t caught on to this yet.

Got a call around 9 in the morning about some big lawsuit, supposedly from HMRC. It felt off, especially when the person ended with "have a blessed day" - that’s not how they usually speak. The number matched ones I’d seen flagged before.

I usually don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers. This one left a voicemail warning me about “serious consequences” if I didn’t call back, pretending to be from HMRC. Having worked there before retirement, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t handle things like that. Proper letters and meetings are their style. Best to just give it a miss!

Got a call from someone saying they're from HMRC. Luckily my wife answered since I'm already dealing with them about something. She tried to jot down the numbers they mentioned but couldn’t find anything to write on. So, I used the 1471 service and plugged the number into this site. Got a robo call telling me to ring Inland Revenue, so I phoned back, a bit worried ‘cause the bloke sounded Indian and said I owed £4000 tax. I was shaking and felt awful. Told him I never get calls, only letters, and asked for a letter cos I thought it might be a scam. He threatened court action then just hung up on me 😰 Properly stressed out now 😖

Got a call from this number earlier, a lady was on the line warning me that if I didn’t ring her back, some serious trouble would come my way... I usually get loads of scam calls like this, so I ignored it. Thing is, I’m deaf and couldn’t catch everything she said. I’m 86 with heart issues and was just about to head out, but since then I’ve been feeling a bit off, probably from stress even though I reckon it’s just a scam. I didn’t bother calling back, but yeah, they did leave a voicemail.

Got a text saying I’d face legal trouble from HM Revenue and Customs if I didn’t ring a certain number they gave. Had a look on the HMRC site and apparently these scams are really common atm and totally bogus. I was under the impression these annoying calls had died down after the Manchester thing, but nah, they’re popping up again.

Earlier today, I got a call and missed it, then found a voicemail telling me about some legal action supposedly against me. I called back and spoke to a woman claiming to be from HM. After I gave my name, she said she'd look into it and told me there was nothing wrong on their side. I didn’t trust it at all and hung up. Definitely looks like a scam to me. Just had my folks get a call from someone saying it was about tax fraud, but they didn’t even say who they were or give any proper details - just told them they were in big trouble. Honestly, this is totally a scam. Be careful and don’t hand over any personal info. Legit companies won’t call or email you out of the blue like this, they’ll always send letters first!!!
