Today I got two calls from this number and I’m pretty sure it's a scam. They say they’re from my local energy company, but it definitely seemed like some sort of automated voice message. Really suspicious.

I swear, this scummy number calls me daily! When are the phone companies or the authorities gonna step up and put a stop to these scammers? It’s getting ridiculous.

Got a call, let it ring but as soon as my answerphone started it just cut off. Seriously, when will BT or Ofcom do something about these annoying calls? They should have a system that flags if the number’s area code doesn’t line up with where the call is supposed to come from and block it. Seems like an easy fix to me!

Some bloke who called himself "Chris" claimed he was from a Government Department offering advice on home insulation. The first thing he asked was if I owned the property. I told him I wasn’t interested in chatting and asked him to give me his phone number in Reading, where he said he was based, so I could ring him back. He hung up straight away. I quickly blocked the number - 02037693419 - which actually seems to be a London number. I reckon this call was likely some sort of scam or at least suspicious.

For two days in a row, I've had calls from this number 02037693419, but they ended the call straight away both times. Really pointless. From what I've seen in other comments, it looks like they’re trying to sell loft insulation or something to do with energy savings.

Seems like I got on the line with this Chris bloke everyone's been talking about. The chat was exactly like the others have been saying. I tried asking him straight if he was the Chris linked to scam calls, but he dodged the question and instead started asking if I was the house owner. When I asked him again about the scam stuff, he just hung up on me...

I got a call from someone named Ed claiming to be from the Preservation Advisory Line. He told me my loft and cavity wall insulation might be unsafe and said they'd do a free inspection. But when I asked him for details about my property or when the insulation was done, he just ended the call. Sounds dodgy to me. Looks like he’s been spotted with a different number up in Halifax too, if the reports are to be believed.

I picked up the phone, but there was complete silence on the other end. It appears to be yet another attempt from my insulation chap, pestering me once again. If by chance you do get someone on the line, I'd recommend telling him to clear off and not bother you again. Judging by history, I fully expect to hear from him again sometime later in the day. Quite the nuisance, aren't they?

I had a rather curious conversation with a chap named "Chris" the other day-seemed to be some sort of local energy consultant, or something of the sort. He confirmed I was the rightful owner of my home and straightforwardly presumed that I’d taken part in the government’s loft insulation initiative over the last decade, which, truth be told, I have. Then he went on to state, “there’s really nothing for you to fret about. The fibreglass insulation you have...” and then, quite abruptly, got cut off on his end. I suspect he might have been angling to upsell me on some additional measures, had I admitted to not having insulation, or perhaps aiming to replace what I currently possess. In any case, I’m fairly certain my insulation is rock wool, not fibreglass, so I’m left wondering just how clued-up he actually is!

Upon returning the call, I was met with a pre-recorded announcement stating that the number belonged to a digital marketing research firm.
