I remembered them ringing earlier, when I'd already said I’m not a British Gas customer. They argued a bit and when I asked which property it concerned, they didn’t have an answer and said they'd get back to me. Today, it was the same story again. I asked them for their main office number, and they gave me 020 070 043 00. From what I’ve seen, that number has loads of bad reviews too.

I'm pretty sure this was Maxen Power behind it, pulling off yet another one of their dodgy scams. They called, claiming to be from the National Grid, saying they needed to swap the meter for the energy company. Plus, they sent emails from a fake EDF Energy address which just confirms they're up to no good.
