Since this is a landline, why is it so hard to track down the callers and make them face fines or legal action? Just think about how someone vulnerable might feel getting a call like this. It’s really not right.

Like lots of folks have said, this is just a ridiculous automated message pretending to be Officer Sarah Wilson from HMRC.

Like loads of others have said, got a phoney HMRC ring with some rubbish robotic voice, using weird words that make no sense legally, then ending with “take care” like it’s nothing. Proper rubbish scam try.

Some bloke called John Parker, and you could tell straight away he wasn’t from around here by the way he spoke. When I asked where he was calling from, he said London, but it didn’t sound right. I wouldn’t give him my NI number, so he just hung up. Plus, he mentioned three different departments when I asked again where he was ringing from - proper dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be ‘Officer Sarah Wilson’ from HMRC. I’ve never had anything from them sound so dodgy, and I really don’t think HMRC would ever use a robotic voice and try to frighten you with a ‘take care’ at the finish ??

Had a pretty similar call to what others described - this robotic woman said she was from the HMRC and warned if I didn’t ring back there’d be big legal problems. When she finished with ‘take care’, it just felt off and suspicious to me!

Got a similar call, using a computerised voice with an American accent, telling me to reach out to Sarah Wilkin at HMRC about urgent business, or else there’ll be serious trouble. Came through to my mobile. You know it’s dodgy, but a small part of you wonders ‘could it be real?’ The way they say it all scary like makes you double-check. That’s why I looked up the number here.

Some woman called saying she was officer Sarah Wilson and that there was a case against me, saying my solicitor should get in touch. But when I rang back, it was a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from HMRC and told my solicitor to contact them quickly. They didn’t ask for any bank info and they already knew my name.
