My mum used to be really annoyed all day after getting calls. So, we bought her a phone that has some kind of safety feature on it. It can be a bit annoying when you try calling her, but it really does block those dodgy scam calls and other calls she doesn't want.

About five minutes ago, I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC and warned me I'd be arrested if I didn't ring them back. When I called back, an Asian bloke answered and asked for my full name. I refused until he explained what it was regarding, but then he just hung up on me because I wouldn’t give him my details.

This morning I received a call about an arrest warrant. Has anyone else had this happen? It's definitely a scam. The government usually sends letters way before making any calls, and they never use numbers that show up on your phone. It was some official-sounding bloke, but trust me, these scammers are proper dodgy.

Got a call early morning from someone really pushy, threatening to take me to court straight away if I didn’t respond. I never made any call to them and just ended up deleting the message because it annoyed me so much. I can imagine how upsetting that kind of call would be for my folks.

Got an answerphone message from someone called Lisa Williams. She ended the call real official like saying "have a blessed day"! Then, nearly an hour later, the same number rang again, asking for me by name. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Got a call from 1741 with no caller ID. Sounded like it was from HMRC, really pushy and threatening. Now I’m bracing for sirens, flashing lights, maybe even a chopper and armed cops turning up. Shame I’m far from the coast, was hoping for a visit from the Coast Guard instead. Pissed off I missed the end of Hancock’s Half Hour on Radio 4 too. That caller must’ve been related to Syd James or something. If you’re not over 70, you’re missing some proper old-school comedy!

I was out for a bit more than a week and only got round to checking my landline messages today. Turns out Lisa Williams rang on 29/06/18 at 1:14pm, pretending to be from HMRC. Like other calls we've had, she left some nasty message aiming to frighten us (we're both well into our eighties!). Didn’t bother us one bit though. I chose to ignore it and after a quick search online, I discovered this was a known scam. Cheers to everyone who shared their experiences, it’s a weight off our minds!

Got a voicemail with the exact same threat about legal action, really shook me up. It’s really worrying, especially thinking about how scary it must be for older or vulnerable folks. Someone needs to find who’s behind this and take proper legal steps against it.

My mum got a call from someone claiming to be Officer Lisa, saying she was from HMRC. She threatened legal trouble and fines if mum didn’t ring a certain number straight away. The person sounded really harsh and it scared her a lot, completely spoiling her day. When mum tried to get help from BT, they weren’t very helpful at all.
