Out of nowhere, I received a call regarding an old PPI claim purportedly valued at £10,000, and I was told I could expect to receive around £6,300, with the company taking a modest fee of £480. Shortly afterwards, I was sent an email containing the relevant paperwork from CGI Ltd (Claims Investigation Group), which requested that I settle the £480 fee upfront. Concerned, I called back and spoke with a woman; I queried why this payment had to be made in advance and if it could be deducted from my eventual payout. Her explanations didn’t really reassure me, although I must admit, she wasn’t pushy and made it clear it was entirely my decision whether to proceed. After doing some digging, I found a firm based in Leeds under the same name, but there seemed to be a lack of detailed information about them.

It seems I’ve received a message asserting that I owe £5000-strange since the deadline for any claim expired two years ago! To top it off, the email originated from ciglimited… how odd!

Two days following their call, I received an email from them. They claim it's a no win, no fee arrangement. However, they stipulate that should I win, I must cough up a fee of 20% plus VAT prior to them disbursing a cheque or transferring the funds to me. Quite the pickle, isn't it?

I got a call earlier today. Just wondering, did you happen to get my email? I haven’t seen a response come through yet.

I received a rather intriguing call claiming I was due a substantial sum in PPI and they asked for my email address to forward the particulars. It was from a company I had dealings with ages ago, so initially, I thought it might be on the level. However, after perusing all the feedback here, I’m beginning to doubt its authenticity! I’m curious to see if they actually send any information via email (if they bother at all), especially since I tried phoning the number back and it just kept ringing with no one picking up...

Received a message saying I was entitled to PPI from GE Money. It’s obviously a ruse since I've never had a mortgage or any PPI cover with them. I did happen to work for the company, so it feels like their records might have been compromised, and they’re trying to reel in unsuspecting former clients. Total scam! Beware, don’t get taken in by this nonsense!

I received a call from someone claiming I was entitled to a hefty sum in PPI, and they mentioned they'd email me some documents, which funnily enough, they already had. After going through the paperwork, we reached the point of discussing how I'd like to receive the payout. That's when things took a turn, as they insisted I hand over a solicitor's fee of £423 before they could release the money. At that moment, I decided to put a halt to the proceedings. Honestly, I'm still on the fence about whether this was genuine or just a clever ruse. The claim was linked to a mortgage provider we indeed dealt with in the past.

I've just received a rather curious phone call from this number, claiming that I'm owed more than £6,000 in PPI dating back to 2006. The caller was from a company that I vaguely remember doing business with, but I’m uncertain if the call was for real. They're apparently ready to send out a cheque.

I received a call informing me that I was due some PPI compensation, and the caller requested my email address. The number had a London area code, but curiously, she mentioned she was based in Bolton.
