5 yearsOut of nowhere, I got a phone call telling me I had an old PPI claim worth £10,000 that was already approved, and I was supposed to receive about £6,300, with them taking a small fee of £480. Soon after, I got an email from CGI Ltd (Claims Investigation Group) with some paperwork, saying I had to pay the £480 upfront. I phoned them to ask why I had to pay first and whether it couldn't just come out of the claim amount, but their explanation didn’t really convince me. To be fair, the woman I spoke to wasn’t pushy and said it was entirely up to me if I wanted to proceed. I looked into CGI and found a company with that name in Leeds, but couldn’t dig up much else about them.CGI LtdClaims Investigation GroupLeeds5 yearsGot an email from ciglimited saying I owe £5000, but the deadline was ages ago like two years! They just mentioned it out of the blue, and I’m pretty sure they already sorted that before. Weird, right?5 yearsTwo days after they rang, I got an email from them. They said it’s a no win no fee thing, but if you do win, you have to pay 20% plus VAT before they send over the cheque or bank transfer. Bit dodgy if you ask me.5 yearsGot a call earlier today. Just wondering, have you got the email yet? I still haven’t gotten anything.5 yearsI got a call from someone saying I was due a lot of money from PPI and asked for my email to send info. It was about a firm I dealt with ages ago, so at first I thought it might be legit. But after reading these comments, I’m not so sure! I’ll wait to see if they actually send anything by email, because when I tried calling back, the phone rings but nobody picks up...5 yearsSomebody ringed me saying I was entitled to PPI from GE Money. Seemed dodgy since I've never had a mortgage with them or any PPI at all. I have worked there before, so it looks like their records might have got hacked and now they're bothering their real customers. Total scam, watch out and don’t fall for it!GE Money5 yearsSomeone called me saying I was due a big payout from PPI and offered to send some forms by email, even though they already had my details. The paperwork showed up and we got as far as discussing how I wanted the money paid out. Then they hit me with a request to pay a solicitor’s fee of £423 before the funds could be released. That’s where I backed off. I’m honestly still unsure if it was a con or legit. The claim was linked to a mortgage company we actually had.5 yearsI got a ring from this number claiming I’m due more than £6,000 compensation for PPI from way back in 2006.
