I got a call from someone claiming to be with Carphone Warehouse, asking for my bank and card info. Definitely a scam, they were trying to trick me. Watch out, they’re not legit!

This number rang me after i had just told a scammer who phoned from a mobile to get lost in no uncertain terms. When i called back, the person was shouting all sorts at me. Absolute rubbish.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, talking up a brilliant contract deal. They even sent me an email from [email protected][###] , so I thought it was legit. But then they asked for a £30-50 refundable deposit, which seemed odd. Usually, these kinds of things just ask for a £1 deposit. Asking for that much feels a bit dodgy and hard to justify.

Got a call from someone claiming my Sky TV Protect direct debit had been stopped and that I needed to make a one-time payment to keep the cover going. I didn’t want to waste time, so I just ended the call. Later, I checked with Sky and they said it definitely wasn’t them ringing. Total scam.

Somebody from ‘Sky’ gave me a ring asking if all my services were running fine. I said I wasn’t interested and then they started calling me a bloody something or other. Not very polite! I’m still not sure what they were after.

Someone I don’t know called but didn’t say anything and didn’t leave a message on my voicemail. So now I’ve changed my phone settings so calls go straight to answerphone. I only ring back if there’s a message and I can tell who’s calling. If it’s a number I don’t recognise, I just block it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sky maintenance saying my contract had run out. Thing is, I don’t have any contract with them. They tried to pressure me, said they’d start charging my direct debit because of the “expired” contract. I ended the call without sharing anything, but the weird part is they sounded like they knew about my Sky setup. Quite worrying really.

It took ages for him to respond when I finally answered. He claimed he was calling from Sky. I was quite suspicious and just said, “Oh, is that so?” then he hung up straight away without another word. You could hear a lot of clattering and chatter like from a busy office behind him. That’s about all I’ve got. But usually, if it was Sky, they’d want to talk to my husband since the account’s under his name. So if this guy didn’t know that, something seemed off.

This is definitely a scam. Since my dad passed away, it seems like my mum's details ended up on some dodgy list. Yesterday, she got a fake letter pretending to be from HSBC, and today some bloke called her speaking in awful English. Mum gave me the number and then he kept ringing me over and over. My mum doesn’t even have a Sky subscription or anything like that. Proper nasty people out there.

Got a call from someone wanting to sell me a maintenance plan for my Sky Q box. I told them the box is actually owned by Sky and that they handle all the upkeep. They just hung up straight away.

Got a call from 02037690702, a lady speaking perfect English pretending she was from Sky. I immediately knew it was dodgy, so I played along and kept her spinning a bit - she actually bought it! Felt good to have a bit of fun with these scammers. I've blocked that number now, but I’m sure they’ve got plenty more.
