Got a call from a bloke with a really thick accent, never mentioned his name. When I asked who he was representing, he said something like Samson Coillier, claiming to speak for some solicitors, but I couldn't quite catch their actual name. He told us HMRC had taken money from tax for a PPI claim we made back in 2020 and said me and my husband were each owed £750. I told him I'd check the details and asked him to ring back later. After looking up the number, I knew straight away it was dodgy. BEWARE! TOTAL SCAM!

Got a call from a bloke with a strong English accent, said I needed to remember some PPI payout from Nationwide. He claimed it was sent back in December like two and a half years ago. Thing is, I've never received anything from Nationwide ever. After I told him that, he just said "no worries if you don’t remember" and then after a quiet pause of about 15 seconds, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone claiming I was due an extra £150 from a PPI claim with HSBC from 2020. They had my previous address, which threw me for a second, then started asking questions like if I was working, married, and what I earned last year. It all sounded a bit too convincing. Then, out of the blue, they wanted my National Insurance number. That’s when I told them I’d need to check first. Glad I did, because after that I cut them off and blocked the number straight away!

Im only 15 and ive never had a credit card with any ppi stuff. I told them my school but when they asked what i teach i said it depends on the class. Got a call from someone saying they were authorised by the government, claiming I was owed £700 because my PPI payout back in 2020 was too low. The man asked quite a few questions about my situation and then asked for my National Insurance number. I didn’t feel comfortable giving out such personal details, so I declined. He then said he couldn’t continue with the claim and just hung up. Just a heads up to be careful with these calls and not share your private info. Could well be a scam.
