That was weird! They called to talk about renewing our EON deal, even though we stopped using them ages back. Then they wondered if we'd got any renewal papers - we hadn’t. I told them we no longer have an account with EON, wasn’t about to share any other details. After that, they said sorry and we wrapped it up. So yeah, totally mixed up situation!

Got a call from 02037463225 claiming to be my electricity supplier, asking if I knew about any government subsidy on my business electric tariff. I said no. Then he told me to check my bill, but when I asked if he could check it for me since I was busy, he said he couldn’t because of data protection rules. To “prove” he was from **** Energy, he read out an MPAN number, but it was totally wrong and he sounded a bit caught out. I never gave him my real MPAN, and then he said he’d ring me back later with the right one. Definitely a scam.

Had pretty much the same thing happen here. They said they’d already posted a letter about our utility bill renewal. When I told them I wouldn’t agree to anything over the phone and asked them to resend the info, they just hung up on me.

Honestly, stay well clear of these lot! They come across all posh, saying they're from the energy company and that my contract was about to end, which was total rubbish. They kept ringing over and over for days, switching from friendly to downright pushy. They sounded legit at first, but when they started asking for details the energy firm would already know, I knew something was off. Proper dodgy.

It’s obviously a scam and pretty disturbing how they begin with a robotic voice talking about arrest right away.
