Got a call about our washing machine warranty, saying they’d knock off £2 a month from January 2024. They already had my name, address, and postcode which was creepy. Then they asked for my bank details, saying they'd send me the contract and inform my bank. Asked for my card number and the 3 digit code - no chance I was giving that! I tried telling her I wasn’t sharing anything, but she wouldn’t back off. Ended the call straight away. Watch out for calls from this number with someone who sounds Indian - pretty sure it’s a scam. Here we go once more, some bloke from India ringing about your washing machine. They’re using a 25-year-old list of homecare agreements that don’t even exist anymore. Most folks know these aftercare deals are a con and way too pricey to even consider. Ages ago we had a deal with some UK company for a similar thing, and when our washer broke, they only managed to sort a repair six weeks later! So now I just buy machines outright, use the manufacturer’s guarantee, and after that’s done, get a local engineer in if needed. Like others have said here, this is a COMPLETE SCAM and not to be trusted.

02037457625 has rang me about 7 times since April. My phone usually flagged it as a scam, but today it slipped through and I saw the call, though I chose not to pick up. I tried calling back and got a message saying “the number you have dialled is invalid” - definitely looks like a scam to me.

Got a ring from this number about some washing machine warranty offer, then they started asking for my bank info. I told them they must already have it to be taking my payments, so I said fine, just go ahead and reduce the payments, then I ended the call. Pretty clear scam if you ask me.

This number rang me up at 4:23 in the afternoon. After a brief quiet, there was that typical annoying “meh” noise before they hung up. After seeing what others have said, it’s clear this is one of those scammy cold-callers, so I’m marking it as dodgy. This number called me again, just like 4 days back, same old story. I told them I’d look for my documents and then just let them wait on the line. They stayed silent for a bit while I pretended to cough, then I heard someone say my name. After about 17 minutes, I thought they must’ve given up, so I ended the call quietly.

Got a call from this number earlier, they were talking about some sort of tv maintenance plan. The lady was rambling about a payment being overdue but also said the first year of the warranty was free - made no real sense to me. She then tried to get me to confirm the brand of our tv and even mentioned the last four digits of the card they'd supposedly charge. I didn’t give her any info, asked her name and where she worked. She said the company was Appliance Aid.

I had to block this number cause they kept ringing me like 28 times a day, I’m sure it’s one of those washing machine insurance scams. I complained to my network provider and even sent them screenshots showing months of daily calls!!! It’s a bit better now, today I only got 5 calls from them but still, it’s ridiculous and really shouldn’t be happening.

I asked her who she was, and she said her name was 'Janet' and that she was ringing about renewing the warranty on my washing machine. Told 'Janet' to buzz off sharpish (expurgated).
