I didn’t pick up the call since I cancelled yesterday. Cancelling was such a pain. They tried to charge me double what I normally pay. They said my final bill was £132, but actually I should only owe £68 and would get £64 refunded within 48 days. I stopped the direct debit at my bank and called them to let them know, also asked for a paper bill for the £68 final payment. It’s awful how they treat people like this. They’re clearly desperate to hold onto customers. I’ve found a much better deal with another company that won’t keep hiking prices and draining your money.

The constant price rises in the middle of the contract were so annoying, not to mention the slow internet and terrible support. Plus, I wasn’t receiving any emails for almost two months because of broadband problems. Now, out of nowhere, my mobile is flooded with calls from them. I don’t pick up, but even after trying to block their number, they still manage to ring me. It’s proper harassing and honestly a nightmare at the moment.

They asked if I was the account holder and then started requesting security info. That’s when I cut them off and hung up. I really don’t think Virgin Media would ring me asking for that kind of info out of the blue. Sure, if I called them, they’d ask for security checks, but you shouldn’t have to give sensitive details to unexpected callers. Plus, phone numbers can be faked, so even if the number looks legit, don’t trust it.

Just don’t fall for it. If they refuse to delete your info once you’re off their service, make sure you report them to OFCOM and the ICO. Apparently, there’s an investigation going on.
