No voicemail was left, and after seeing these reviews, I'm pretty sure it's a scam, so I've just blocked the number.

They said they were from Homecare or Homeserve and tried to sell me washing machine insurance. I kept chatting for a bit longer than I should have before I finally ended the call. Definitely shared too much info during the conversation.

Beware of dodgy calls about washing machine warranties - got one myself trying to scam me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Homeserve, trying to sell me a free extension on washing machine cover - which I don’t even have! The moment she mentioned payment details, I told her I’m not interested and ended the call. Looking back, I probably should’ve asked for the make and model of my machine to catch them out. Seems like a total scam to me. What’s creepy is she already knew my name and address, but I guess that info’s easy enough to find on BT’s online directory since it looks like you can’t truly be ex-directory these days.

My washing machine was no longer under warranty when I called. They asked for details about the machine but got them completely wrong! Feels like some sort of rip-off, so watch out!

Someone called asking to talk to a person who isn’t real. They never said who they were, and the number isn’t listed or recognised by anyone but the phone provider. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

Received a call from someone claiming to be 'Geri' representing Home Appliance Serve. She began by stating that they were offering an extension on my washing machine warranty for an additional two years. She knew my home address and asked me to verify it. Then, she mentioned a direct debit of £6.99 a month, down from £9.99, as part of a special promotion. However, she couldn’t provide any specific details regarding my washing machine. She persistently requested my bank sort code to set up the direct debit. I was informed of a two-week cooling-off period and that I would receive written confirmation. I requested to review the document beforehand and ended the call. Immediately after, they rang me again, but I chose not to pick up this time.

Got a call from a woman with an accent I couldn’t place, she knew my name and said it was about the warranty on my washing machine. I just told her I wasn’t interested and she quickly ended the call.

Absolutely dodgy bunch...they rang my mum attempting to peddle some insurance for her washing machine, clearly targeting those who are more susceptible.

07/03/21 I saw all these complaints after, and honestly, I was lucky not to pick up.

I got a call from someone offering insurance for my washing machine and they spent ages checking the brand. I gave them a totally different brand from mine and they just went with it, which was a bit suspicious. Then they said they’d put me through to someone else, probably to get my bank info or something, so I just ended the call. Since then, I’ve had like six more calls from them. These scam calls just won’t leave me alone!

Got a call from someone pretending to be Amazon. They told me my Prime subscription was renewed for £79 and if I wanted to stop it, they said to press 1 on the phone. Seemed dodgy to me.

I got a call from someone saying they wanted to discuss my home appliance insurance, even though I don't actually have any. Quite confusing!

Like others have mentioned, it was a woman speaking with an accent that didn’t sound local, calling about some kind of washing machine warranty renewal.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent about my warranty expiry. I mentioned they've rung me a couple of times already this week. She then got quite annoyed, saying I was blaming her personally for the calls. I just calmly repeated no and asked her to take my number off their list due to GDPR rules.

I've received a few of these calls myself. The first one was from a chap insisting that I should insure my appliances, while the second time, I got silence on the line. It’s quite infuriating and clearly a scam!

So, this other time, I got a call from a woman with a thick accent, she called me by name and started pushing some sort of insurance for my washing machine. Sounded dodgy as hell, so I've blocked the number straight away. Definitely felt like one of those scams.

I received a rather peculiar call from a woman insisting that I required insurance for my refrigerator. It struck me as nothing short of a scam, so I promptly advised her where to shove her unsolicited offer and ended the conversation.

they rang saying it was about the fridge warranty, which had actually run out like a decade ago. when i asked what brand it was, she got it totally wrong and then started being rude.

Got a call from a woman, sounded like American or something, saying my washing machine warranty had run out. Didn’t say which brand or which company, just that it was expired. Seemed like one of those appliance scams to me. I just said I wasn’t interested and put the phone down. The way she spoke - kinda laid back and not very convincing - made me think it was dodgy, definitely not legit.

So, someone rang me up saying they could extend the warranty on my fridge, which I supposedly bought a few years ago. They asked for about £6 or something to sort it out, but I just hung up then and there. Seriously, how did they even get hold of my name, address, and postcode in the first place?

I’m quite convinced this was some dodgy scam. I picked up and when I asked who it was, they said something about home appliance insurance or something along those lines, saying my fridge freezer warranty had run out and they could renew it for me. I asked her to repeat who she was with but still wasn’t clear, so I just ended the call.

I got a call from a lady with a strange accent who knew my name and claimed my fridge insurance had run out and they wanted to renew it. I asked her not to end the call until she explained where she found my phone number and personal info. As you’d expect, she just cut me off! Total scam, beware!
