This number kept ringing me loads of times, and I kept saying it wasn’t a good time to talk. Yesterday I tried asking who was calling, but the person just hung up on me. Today, when I was half awake, they called again claiming to be from TalkTalk. I said yes, thinking they were the right people, so they asked if I was happy with their service. I told them it was rubbish, especially since I’d been out of service for a month and expected some compensation. Then, they just ended the call. After that, I rang TalkTalk myself and they told me it wasn’t them - it was a scam!

I've had calls from HQVE a few times in the space of about a week, but each time they just hung up quickly. Then they said they’d spoken to me and knew I was with TalkTalk, plus they had my name. Thing is, I’m ex-directory. They tried to sell me an S4 phone deal - 300 minutes, 250 texts, and 150MB of data - and asked for my 16-digit card number and security code. At first, I thought it was legit until I rang TalkTalk myself to check, and they had no clue about it. Can these people still get into my account though, since they knew the name on it?

Around midday on the 2nd of April 2015 my phone was blowing up with calls. I didn’t answer any, but later I tried 1471 to check who called. Two of the calls showed up as “no caller info,” but the third was from 02037019253. Seems likely they were all from the same bunch. Watch yourselves!

On the 25th of March at about 9.22 in the morning, this number rang. Then again on the 27th March, just after midnight around 12.29 am, and once more later that same day at 6.55 pm. It popped up again on the 30th of March sometime about 12.20 pm. Whenever I do answer, all I hear is some weird background noise, so I end up just hanging up. Really annoyed as it feels like some annoying cold call. Definitely want to block it cos it's getting on my nerves having to keep picking up for nothing.

Earlier today, I received a phone call (25th March 2015, not too long after the "..." comment above). The person on the other end requested to speak to the telephone account holder by name. I informed them that he wasn't available, yet they insisted they were representing TalkTalk. The background noise was quite distracting, resembling a bustling call centre, and the quality of the connection was rather poor. Moreover, to avoid any misinterpretation, it’s important to mention that the caller was a woman with an Indian accent. I can’t shake off the feeling that they weren't being entirely truthful about their identity...

If a number keeps bothering you, you can usually get call blocking for free - at least that’s what TalkTalk offered me. This one number kept ringing, pretending to be TalkTalk’s internet support. Luckily, I’m quite savvy with computers so I saw straight through their nonsense. I just played along with their requests until I finally told them I wasn’t doing any of it and pointed out their nonsense. They ended up shouting at me, which I found hilarious and gave as good as I got. Still, I can see how this would scare people who aren’t as tech-savvy or who might be more vulnerable. I reckon BT and other providers have similar blocking features where you can block the last caller or pick certain numbers to block. Definitely check with your phone company about it. What a nightmare! I’m seriously thinking about just switching off me phone during daylight hours. The calls have gotten ridiculous. It’s like everyone and their dog is trying to reach me constantly. I often find myself snapping at these callers cause I’m so fed up. Even trying to put myself on the telephone preference list didn’t make a difference when I checked with them.

This lot calling themselves Bank Refunds are nothing but cheats. They ring constantly, multiple times a day, and often I get calls where there’s no one there or it’s just silence at all hours. I've told them loads of times I’m on the TPS list and I’ve got no interest in what they’re offering. I’ve never even paid PPI, so there’s nothing for me to claim back! They just keep shouting over me and ignore me no matter how many times I say, over and over, that I’m not interested and haven’t looked into PPI online ever. Absolutely dreadful behaviour.

I had a rather frustrating experience with Speak Speak, as they were insistent on pushing us into a fresh SIM card contract. Despite my numerous attempts to convey that we weren’t interested, they simply ignored my requests and ended the call rather abruptly. Quite rude, if you ask me!
