Got a call from some woman overseas telling me I'd won some lottery through a syndicate, asking for my bank details to sort out the winnings. Well, unlike her, I wasn’t born yesterday. You’ve got to buy a ticket or enter something to actually win, and I never signed up for anything like that. Complete con, just steer clear.

I received numerous calls from this number all in the space of a single day. The chaps on the other end spoke with a distinct South African accent. Just to clarify, my energy provider is PFP Energy, which has recently come under the umbrella of British Gas. It’s rather unsettling, as these callers seemed to have my address and knew how long I’ve been residing here. They also mentioned my date of birth! It quickly dawned on me that they were attempting to obtain my banking details. That's when I realised something was amiss!

So I got a couple of calls yesterday and one again today from someone saying I’d won an iPhone and ten free Euro lottery tickets, claimed I entered a competition. Thing is, I never signed up for anything like that. They just hung up on me and now they won’t stop ringing me. It’s really annoying.
