Lately I've been getting loads of calls from numbers that look the same at the start but the last digits keep changing. Whenever I pick up, there's just silence, so I've just stopped answering altogether. It’s annoying that they’re ringing me at like 7.15 in the evening as well. Clearly some kind of scam going on. Honestly, they should do something to block these calls, I’ve got more important stuff to be doing.

The TPS only covers genuine sales and marketing firms. It doesn't protect you from other genuine groups, and obviously, criminals couldn’t care less about it even if it did apply. If you scroll down about 9 comments from here, there’s a post outlining what you can do if you’re dead serious about putting an end to these rip-off calls. Also, make sure you send a complaint to your MP about all these scam calls, texts and emails. The scammers know we Brits often can’t be arsed to report these things to the right authorities, so they carry on without a worry.

Seems like they’re trying to get your details for scams and annoying calls. From what I’ve seen, this number is from a range that’s been linked to shady activity.
