Some bloke called me up claiming I’d won Tesco vouchers from a competition I supposedly entered. I do enter loads of contests but only for stuff I actually want, and I never shop at Tesco, so there’s no way I signed up for that. He then said I’d won 15 free tickets for this Friday’s Euro Millions out of thousands of people. I told him I wasn’t bothered but he just kept going on and ignored me. Total scam, no doubt about it - blocked straight away.

Utterly fraudulent! I received a call claiming I’d signed up for a Coca-Cola contest and was in line for a prize draw. They then requested my bank account details as well as the sort code. I received a rather intriguing call this morning regarding an advertisement I had come across about complimentary Lenor. To my surprise, the caller informed me that I had been awarded ten entries for the lottery happening next Friday - all for free! But as it turns out, the whole affair was merely an invitation to join a lottery syndicate, which would set me back £39 monthly for a chance to snag more tickets. Naturally, I politely turned them down. The individual on the other end was quite courteous and graciously accepted my lack of interest. Still, I can’t shake off this feeling that there's something a bit dodgy about it; winning seems rather unlikely, doesn’t it? It's quite baffling that this all stemmed from an ad promoting a free product sample in the first place!
