Got a dodgy recorded call warning that some menacing letter is on its way.

I have no clue who rang me. They called once, I didn't pick up, then they called straight back. When I did answer, there was complete silence and then the call just ended. After checking the number, I figured out it was likely someone trying to scam or bother me. Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, spoke in broken English, saying she was from the Bank of England doing a survey. We never asked for any surveys or marketing calls and we're registered with TPS, so no one should be ringing us. I just ended the call and went back to cooking. After about a minute and a half, they had already ended the call.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an American accent, wanted to discuss how covid 19 affected the mental health and wellbeing of our staff. I told her the health and safety person wasn’t around and she said she’d call again next week. Put the number into this site and, as expected, it turned out to be a scam. Typical really.

I can confidently say this number is a right dodgy one. There have been a multitude of complaints lodged against it. Those brave enough to pick up have found themselves bombarded with requests to participate in various surveys! The most recent one appears to be about Covid - what a surprise! A friend who answered a few days back recounted a rather courteous lady with a proper English accent inquiring after her 92-year-old mum, who unfortunately suffers from dementia. These scammers are becoming increasingly cunning, swapping out the usual “my name is David” types for seemingly pleasant, English-speaking women. My advice? Either hang up immediately or ignore the call altogether. I’ve already flagged it myself.

sounds like a telemarketer to me, he was trying to sell me some kitchen gadgets. not sure if it was a scam or just a normal sales call, but i wasnt interested so i said no thanks and he just said ok and hung up.
