When I said I wasn’t interested, the guy got really pushy, asking why I’d joined and wanted all my info. Ended up just hanging up. If this is marketing, it’s done very badly because the caller was quite rude and you could hear him chuckling with someone else, which made it obvious it’s a scam.

It's a complete scam, without a doubt. I recently responded to a 'survey' conducted by someone with an Indian accent. For the survey, I fabricated all of my responses. Subsequently, I have been receiving numerous phone calls regarding my nonexistent Hoover washing machine, Sony television, and Sky box. However, the individuals contacting me were unaware that I don't currently have sky protection, so I immediately recognized it as a scam. It's unfortunate that these dishonest individuals can't be reported to the police for their attempted theft and fraud. They truly are despicable.

Beware of yet another dubious satellite company that operates outside the oversight of the FCA. They attempt to skirt regulations by disguising their services as maintenance contracts or warranties, as stated on their website. This allows them to employ a deceptive payment system and scam people out of money. Their cold calls go unchecked and allow them to make false claims such as offering lifetime coverage at low risk and lower prices than Sky (does this sound familiar?). I received a phone call from a lady named "Pippa". Unfortunately, I didn't catch her full surname, but it could be Harrison. She called me by my name and mentioned something about my Sky box. Another lady informed me that their company is called UK Technical & Electrical and they obtain their information from Sky. I decided to cancel my contract with sky protect, which is actually a separate company known as Domestic in General, who pay Sky a commission to use their name. Initially, I was paying £9.99 per month, but they reassessed me as a low-risk customer and reduced my payment to only £100 for 3 years. Recently, I had to contact them again on Friday because I lost my signal. The lady I spoke to initially tried to troubleshoot over the phone, but eventually arranged for an engineer to call me back. The engineer visited my house this morning and fixed the issue with my dish, so now my sky is back up and running smoothly. I must admit, I have no issues with this company whatsoever. The woman reveals that she works for the Maintenance department but does not clarify which one.
