After entering a Cadbury competition survey, I've been bombarded with loads of cold calls and emails, even from something called World Lotto. One caller claimed he'd sent me ten free lucky dip tickets by email and then tried to quiz me further. I got really fed up, complained multiple times over the phone about the constant harassment, but it just kept happening. The lottery tickets never showed up either. Honestly, watch out for this kind of thing.

Got a call saying I had won some Facebook giveaway I supposedly entered just yesterday - which I definitely didn't. They had my full name right, but it was actually my maiden name. Since I got married back in early 2017, I’m guessing they got their info from some old database or something.

Somebody rang me claiming I’d won some lottery tickets from a contest I supposedly entered. They said I’d first get 10 free tickets, then if I paid £39 for three months, I’d be sent 70 tickets to play. If I didn’t win, apparently I’d get my cash back?! It all felt really fishy. When I asked where they’d got my info from and told them to delete it under GDPR, the woman suddenly passed me to her “manager” who was really keen on me giving my bank details like sort code and account number! Total scam, watch out!

He started off by reading out my name, where I live and my date of birth, then claimed I’d won a few free EuroMillions lines. Said only about 150 folks out of thousands had bagged this prize. Then he asked which bank account I wanted the winnings sent to, so I questioned, “Am I authorising a direct debit with this?” He replied, “Yeah, but you only pay if you don’t win.” I then told him I didn’t agree to any subscription like that, and he just hung up on me.
