Been stung before by scammers so I'm always on guard when I get calls from numbers I don't recognise. Got two calls this morning just like that. I just hang up and block them straight away.

I wanted to share a little fib about winning a handful of lottery tickets-let’s say I claimed to have snagged ten of them! It was all in good jest, just a playful exaggeration to stir up some fun. Who wouldn’t want to fantasise about a windfall, right?

Ever since I participated in a Cadbury's competition survey, my phone has been ringing off the hook, and my inbox is flooded with unsolicited emails, including from some world lottery. One of their representatives claimed to have sent me ten complimentary lucky dip tickets and then proceeded to pepper me with questions. I absolutely lost my cool, expressing my frustration over the constant harassment, and after several phone calls of me voicing my dissatisfaction, it only got worse! Not a whiff of those lottery tickets ever landed in my inbox. Just a word of caution to others!

I received a message claiming that I had won a Facebook contest I supposedly entered just the day before, but I certainly didn’t sign up for anything! Interestingly, they addressed me by my maiden name, which I haven’t used since I tied the knot in early 2017. Quite clearly, they must be relying on an outdated database.

Received a call concerning some sort of contest linked to Gillette, which I can categorically say I haven’t signed up for in the past three to six months. When I informed them of this, they simply acknowledged it and promptly ended the call. There was mention of tickets for a lottery and some VIP offerings, but I recognised it as a scam and wasn’t keen on delving into the specifics. I've since added the number to my block list.

Somebody rang me claiming I’d won some lottery tickets from a contest I supposedly entered. They said I’d first get 10 free tickets, then if I paid £39 for three months, I’d be sent 70 tickets to play. If I didn’t win, apparently I’d get my cash back?! It all felt really fishy. When I asked where they’d got my info from and told them to delete it under GDPR, the woman suddenly passed me to her “manager” who was really keen on me giving my bank details like sort code and account number! Total scam, watch out!

A chap called me up, claiming to need my name, address, and date of birth. He went on about me winning some complimentary lines for the EuroMillions, insisting that just 150 participants out of a massive pool had scored this prize. Then, he wanted to know where I’d like my winnings deposited. I quipped, “So, am I effectively signing up for a direct debit then?” to which he replied, “Indeed, but you’re only charged if you don’t win.” I promptly said, “I don’t agree to that subscription” and he swiftly ended the call.

I received a rather dodgy call regarding a competition I supposedly won for some Lenor. They had my name and address, which was a bit unsettling. They claimed I’d struck gold with five free lines in the Euromillions and wanted me to select five numbers plus two lucky stars. However, when they requested my bank details to facilitate a transfer if I were to win, I became suspicious. I suggested they simply send a cheque to my address since they had it, but they informed me that wasn’t an option before abruptly ending the conversation. Clearly, this was just a scam!

I received a rather peculiar call from a chap with a rather amusing accent-couldn’t quite place whether it was African or Asian, to be honest. He introduced himself as Justin and prattled on about a Morrison voucher that I supposedly had won. He then asked me to choose five numbers to take part in some sort of “draw.” Out of the blue, he inquired about my bank and requested my sort code. I politely but firmly told him to shove off, ended the conversation, and promptly blocked his number. Honestly, this sorry excuse for a person ought to seek proper employment instead!
