Absolutely a scam! I scheduled an oven cleaning and gave my card info to pay the deposit. The next day, they rang to confirm the booking and asked if I wanted to pay the rest. I said no, felt a bit dodgy about the whole thing. Today, I got a text saying my oven clean was cancelled and that I should book again. Tried calling them back but no reply. I called my bank straight away and cancelled my card, only to find out they'd actually set up a direct debit to take the deposit every month! Proper scam, watch out!

Since I shifted homes a couple of years back and hired an oven cleaning service, this company has been nonstop ringing me. I've utilised their services on two occasions, and I must say the cleaning has been quite commendable. However, during my most recent experience, the young chap (who worked like a trojan) accidentally let the oven door slip while reinstating it. I can't help but think that the fault lies with AEG, as the hefty door only had two flimsy plastic lugs securing the handle. He assured me he’d return to replace the door at his earliest convenience, and the customer service team subsequently followed up to confirm this. That was back in early May, and I've yet to hear anything from AEG. I'm beginning to wonder if they’ve simply not responded, or if the replacement is hard to come by. Regardless, I’m keen to find out what the next steps might be. I realise it's rather a luxury service, but at the age of 88, I've found it increasingly taxing to manage these things on my own.

A day or two before the appointment, they called again to give me the name of the person coming and asked if I wanted to pay then or in advance. I chose to pay upfront. I got a voicemail about oven cleaning and I think it mentioned Havant. They said if I want the service to press 1, if not press 2. I never asked for any oven cleaning or showed interest, so it’s a cold call. They might be legit but they keep calling from 8 in the morning till 8 at night. Whether it's a genuine company or not, this felt like straight up harassment, not just a cold call. The bloke said I'd asked for a quote, which I definitely hadn’t. So, I ended up blocking the number.
