I've faced a similar predicament with both Crisis and Cancer Research too.
It appears that no matter what you offer, they’re always after a bit more. It feels as if they’re not truly prioritising those they aim to support. It’s quite disappointing, really, as I’ve made the decision to steer clear of donating to charities in the future.

I tried to do a good deed the other day while strolling through the streets of London. There were at least half a dozen charity workers attempting to catch the attention of passersby. I ended up parting with a donation that was anything but insignificant, given the amounts they seem to suggest! However, if they continue to pester - and I mean truly pester - those of us who have already been generous, then I firmly believe this charity ought to be shut down. Their relentless hounding and guilt-tripping tactics to squeeze even more money out of people are simply unacceptable! What's more, they lack the courtesy to leave a voicemail; it’s just incessant ringing without end. I reckon it’s best to block them altogether. That's precisely what I've done with this number - blocked!
