Got a call off some dodgy lot saying our washing machine's warranty had run out - problem is, we never signed up for any warranty or service deal in the first place! Watch out for these scammers, giving them your cash is a waste, and I wouldn't trust them with your card info for a second!

Somebody rang me but I didn’t pick up, and after checking this site, it looks like it’s one of those appliance insurance scams. Glad I didn’t get involved. Lately I’ve had a few calls from numbers like this, all fishing around for details on my life insurance and credit record. Not going to fall for it.

Received a call claiming to be about my washing machine warranty. The lady insisted I owned a Hotpoint, but I corrected her and offered to share the details of my actual machine. I said I use a British Imperial Model 4a, boasting a built-in mangle. She had no clue what a mangle was, so I explained it to her. When she asked how old it was, I told her it turned 58 last October. She sounded puzzled and just hung up.

Got a call about some appliance warranty thing, they even knew my name which was weird. I asked who was on the phone, but they just said my appliance warranty had expired and mentioned a 14-day cooling off period. When I asked what it was all about, they just cut me off and hung up! Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Somebody rang me up about renewing my washing machine warranty, sounded real pushy wanting me to sign up again. I told them it’s better to just buy a new machine than bother with the warranty. When they pushed back asking why, I just said I get to decide what's right for me, then I ended the call straight away!

Got a call about signing up for an extended warranty on our washing machine. At first, it was just a recorded voice, but if you reply, a real person takes over. They already had our name and address, which was a bit creepy. But when they asked about the type of washing machine and guessed wrong, I figured they weren’t from where we bought it. The person on the phone got pretty pushy when we said no, which was quite off-putting.

Total scam. They called about some washing machine warranty extension, which is ridiculous since my machine’s been going nearly two decades. Looking back, maybe I should have kept them on the line a bit longer to stop them bothering other people, and maybe mess about with them a bit too.

Got a call from someone asking for a Mr Kinsella. I told them they had the wrong number, but they kept pushing to get some info out of me. Weird thing is, this is like the third or fourth time I've had calls from different phone numbers asking for the same person. So, after a bit, I just blocked all those numbers.

So they call me about warranty cover for my washing machine? Not surprising there isn’t any, seeing as it’s 18 years old! I either ended the call straight away or just messed with them for ages. Definitely not the real company they claimed to be from.

They kept asking me about the brand of my washing machine, then the WiFi provider I use, and even what kind of TV I have. But when I tried to find out why they wanted all that info, they just dodged the question and moved on to something else. If I said I didn’t know an answer, they’d just jump to asking about another thing. When I pressed them to explain who they were or what the call was about, they stayed silent. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

Got a call from some bloke called Trevor who said he was from Appliance Care 24/7, claiming to be based in London, Middlesex. He tried to sell me an extended warranty for my washing machine, saying it would cover parts, labour and call outs for £95 a year. Since my washer is coming up on 10 years old, I told him I wasn't keen. Later on, I checked the government site and couldn’t find any listing for that company. Pretty sure it's a scam.

Some bloke called saying the warranty on my wife’s washing machine was up. He wanted me to verify some stuff, but I just said no. Then he asked when would be a good time to ring back. I told him she’s on life support with Covid, so maybe not the best moment to bother us. Then he dropped the call. She’s not really, but it gave us a good laugh and hopefully made him think twice! Ha!

So I got a call from a bloke saying the warranty on my washing machine had expired. It was a bit strange since he had my previous address and I actually bought the washing machine after moving here. Then, out of nowhere, he started adding the fridge and cooker to the warranty as well. I told him neither were covered, but he kept insisting they were. The cooker was already in the house when we moved in, and the fridge is something I got recently. Eventually, I told him to take off all three appliances. He tried to convince me otherwise, but I didn’t fall for it.

Got a call about insurance for my washing machine, saying my cover had run out. Thing is, I’ve never bought any insurance, and my washing machine’s got to be at least 13 years old. The person wouldn’t accept that I wasn’t interested, so I just hung up and made sure to block the number.

Got a call from 02036423965 earlier saying something about my washing machine warranty. He actually knew my address but I just said I’d shifted house and then the call just dropped. So if these people ring you, just say you’re not there anymore and they’ll probably stop. If that doesn’t work, try telling them you live in a caravan. And if they still don’t get the hint, mention your caravan’s parked at some dodgy place like Deadend Farm with a postcode like PI55 Off. I heard one bloke actually tried typing that postcode into his system and it came up as invalid!

At first, the caller was quite polite but then suddenly got really rude, shouting about how I supposedly didn’t have insurance on my washing machine. When I told him I did, he just yelled back “No, you don’t” and slammed the phone down. I could imagine how upsetting that might be for someone older who might easily feel scared or pressured by that kind of behaviour.

So today, Monday 13/9/2021, I got two calls about some discounted appliance insurance. Both callers insisted they needed my bank details before sending any paperwork. Over the past few months, I've had around 20 calls trying to fish out my banking info. I've never actually received any official documents proving the cover is real. The number 0203423965 supposedly belongs to Appliance Care 247, but that doesn’t guarantee it’s legit - scammers can make any number show up on your caller ID.

i called 02036423965, the number for appliance care 247, because someone pretending to be from them had been ringing me asking for my bank info. the person who answered said its normal for them to request those details since my bank protects me from fraud. i tried to explain that ive never received any written confirmation from them. he kept saying its fine to share my sort code and account number. i told him i never hand over my bank details to strangers on the phone but he kept assuring me it was safe. honestly, i dont trust this company at all.

So today, Friday 10/9/2021, I got a call around 5:49pm from someone trying to get me to renew insurance for my washing machine. Thing is, I've never had any insurance with them at all. The lady said her name was Kaesy and told me my insurance had expired. She somehow already had my name, address and number, which freaked me out a bit. She asked me a bunch of questions, but the moment she asked for my bank details I knew it was dodgy. Absolutely no way am I giving my account info to a random cold caller - that’s just asking for trouble!

Its 10th of sept and a bloke got past my call blocker today. Had a really muffled message about some washing machine warranty being expired. I told him straight that Ive sold the machine so no point. I got a call from Casey who told me to ring her back after I got the renewal papers for my washing machine in the post. She said she’d send me the documents but first asked for my bank details and sort code. What a dodgy move, Casey’s just a scammer trying to make a quick buck. Honestly, she needs to find a proper job instead of this nonsense. Would love for her to call me back tho, had a laugh and stopped her tricking some poor soul. People like that deserve to be locked up with the key lost!

A bloke with an Indian accent phoned me about some guarantee for my washing machine. I told him he was talking rubbish and asked what brand he reckoned my machine was.
