This caller claimed to be from the data protection department, asking to verify the expiry date on my card. They said their name was Blaine Webb and gave an address as 100 Gloucester Street, Bloomsbury, London, WC1N 3EX. After confirming the expiry date, the line suddenly cut off. I made sure not to share any other card information.

Today, this number rang my 83 year old dad and somehow managed to trick him into handing over £269. I’m currently contacting the bank to try and halt the transaction. It’s sickening how these scammers target old people like that. Honestly, I’d love a chance to have a word with them myself!!!!!!

Just got a call on my house phone from someone claimin to be from BT Call Guardian. We talked for a bit and they said it wouldn’t cost me anything, but then they started askin for the long number on my bank card. Told them no way, I wasn’t falling for that. Really not sure what to do now, does anyone know how I can report this sort of thing?

I got a call from 0061730734252 and this bloke said he was from Sky. He wanted my card details but I didn’t give anything away. The guy had an Asian accent and called himself Gerry. He asked me to call him back on 02036309055. Seriously, why isn’t anyone cracking down on these annoying scammers?

Had a call from someone with a really thick Asian accent which I found pretty hard to make out. Honestly thought it was a scam right away, and reading the messages here just confirms it’s a con. What really puzzles me is why some fraud squads never seem to chase up these complaints, or maybe these scammers are using phone numbers that seem genuine? Surely BT, with all their tech, could just block these dodgy calls. It’s baffling how these cheats get hold of what look like proper numbers, especially when you check the number with BT’s 17070 service and it shows as valid.

I got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying he was Gerry from BT billing. He asked if I was the one responsible for the bill and mentioned I don’t pay it through direct debit. Just as I was about to answer, the call suddenly dropped. After seeing other comments about this number, I’m definitely blocking it now.

The caller refused to say his name and kept pushing me to give him my debit card details. He threatened to cut off my phone line the next day if I didn’t comply. I told him where to go and hung up. Then, he actually rang back and tried again, but I ended the call once more. These people are nothing but scammers. Today I got another call from a different number, no message left, so I just ignored it. I get several disturbing calls every day, and at 84 years old, I really don’t need this stress. Seriously, can we please have some peace from these annoying calls?

Got a call from someone pretending to be Talk Talk, offering some call blocking service. They insisted my mum hand over her card info, saying it was necessary for her own protection and that no money would be taken. My mum’s quite old and can get mixed up easily, so she ended up giving them the details. Luckily, I managed to cancel her card and the bank sorted us out with a refund for the money they’d taken without permission. Honestly, it baffles me how these scammers are still allowed to scam vulnerable people like that - it’s really shocking.

Got a call from 02036309055 today, some bloke pretending to be from my phone provider trying to sell me a one-time payment to block a service.
