02036305457 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02036305457 πŸ‘† is reported as a persistent and aggressive scam targeting vulnerable and elderly individuals by falsely claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service or a related nuisance call blocking organisation. Callers, often with strong South Asian accents, display personal information such as name and address to gain trust, then pressure victims into providing bank details, including debit card expiry dates, sort codes, and direct debit information. They attempt to set up fraudulent payments, typically charging around Β£21.99, alleging these fees enable blocking of nuisance or international calls. Many victims have had to involve banks, activate power of attorney, or report to Action Fraud. Genuine TPS services are free and do not make unsolicited calls or request bank details. It is strongly advised not to share personal or financial information with these callers and to report any suspicious activity promptly.

Typical scam targeting old people. Definite telecom fraud. Lady with Indian accent. Number 02036300336 as well. Somehow got hold of my elderly mum’s bank info to sort out direct debits, supposedly to stop annoying calls lol! They even sent a letter. Bank told us to freeze any direct debits and made us aware of the power of attorney situation.

These scammers kept ringing my elderly parents over 20 times, and every time my mum or dad would just hang up on them. My dad suffers from Alzheimer’s and eventually got so confused he ended up giving them his bank card details, including the CVC (scarily, they already had some info on him). When I found out, I immediately contacted the bank, but by then they’d already taken £30 out and even set up a direct debit in their name. It’s been a nightmare because I’ve had to get power of attorney just to get the bank to take me seriously and deal with it - before that, they refused to discuss anything as I wasn’t authorised, so they wouldn’t even flag the suspicious activity. Mum couldn’t handle calls herself as she’s deaf, and dad couldn’t remember any of the calls. Honestly, this lot are a vicious and pushy scammer gang.

Just got a call from this number. They were askin me to confirm some personal info. When I said I wasn't sure it was legit, the person gave me a name, Martina Thompson, and an ID number. I told them I'd rather call back first before sharing anything. Of course, I never did. I'm on the telephone preference service, which is free, so I dont get random calls like this usually.

This happened while I was visiting my folks. Mum got a phone call and was about to answer, but I grabbed the phone and hung up. They rang again shortly after. When I asked who they were, they said something about telephone preference management, and a bloke named Henry Wilson gave me the number 02036305457. I haven't bothered calling Henry back. Just a heads up to keep an eye on your elderly relatives, these calls can be dodgy!

Just like what others have said, these guys kept ringing my mum over and over within half an hour. Every time she cut the call, they’d keep pestering her, trying to get her bank info. What’s freaky is they already had some of her details, even though she’d only just moved in two days ago and we never gave out our number. Honestly, these people are the lowest of the low. That number really should be blocked, and they need to face the law.

Got a call from an Indian woman using number 02036305457, said she was from some call blocking service. She actually had my name and address which was a bit creepy. Asked me when my debit card was due to expire, but I didn’t give her that info. She couldn’t even tell me who my provider was, just kept saying all nuisance and international calls would be blocked. Tried asking her other stuff but she couldn’t answer and kept pushing me to give bank details. I told her I’d look into her before sharing anything over the phone.

This group is a con. Their usual tactic is to ask if you’ve been getting loads of annoying calls and then say they’ll boost your call blocking to stop overseas ones. The bloke I chatted with, claiming to be “Richard” or some other name that didn’t seem right for an Indian subcontinent guy, gave me a phone number and website to reach out if I had any issues with their service. He repeated my name and address and tried to get my bank info but couldn’t give me his when I asked. Really pushy. Phoned me back twice before I decided to block the number.

I got a call from a lady with a foreign accent claiming she was calling from the telephone preference service. She wanted me to verify my name and address, which I did. Then she asked if I paid by direct debit and wanted the expiry date on my card. Something felt off, so I started asking loads of questions and didn’t give her any more info. She insisted she already had the details and just needed to confirm. When I asked for her number, she gave me 02036305457, but the call actually came from 0114 2218647. I ended the call there and have since blocked that number.

Someone rang claiming to be from the Government, promising to stop all those annoying calls - I didn’t really give any info since they hadn’t been properly verified. After a bit, it was clear they weren’t actually going to follow through. Honestly, it’s about time the powers that be sorted this mess out. Why not make a law where any UK phone service that bombards customers with unwanted calls has to pay a fine directly? If they don’t follow the rule, they lose their business licence. On top of that, publish the names and numbers of the company directors and anyone linked to them. I’m sure their partners wouldn’t be happy and might put a stop to all this nonsense pretty quickly.

Said she was from the telephone preference service. Tried to get me to verify my info and even asked for my card’s security code and bank details. Really pushy!! Kept telling me “they definitely won’t withdraw any money”. I asked her for her phone number but she just kept insisting on my account info.

Got a call from someone who sounded Indian, asking for my Direct Debit info, saying it was needed to confirm an extension with my service provider. They insisted this was the only way to prove who I am! I didn’t give any banking details. I questioned them more and they just gave me the landline number listed here, which I saw reported by loads of people as dodgy. After chatting with a ‘supervisor’ who also gave me bad vibes, I just ended the call.

Really persistent lot, rang me yesterday and again today. I hung up yesterday cause the line was rubbish. Today the call sounded dodgy so I asked for a number to ring back. They even gave me a reference code - TP6074. They were after my bank sort code and account number.

I don't get why these fraudsters aren't just blocked. Someone should really put a stop to these jerks tricking folks all the time. Everyone knows they’re just out to scam, so why isn’t it easy for phone providers to just cut them off? It’s not rocket science!

I got a phone call from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was Derek and he was from Telephone Preference Management. I was suspicious since it sounded a bit off so I asked for a number to ring him back on. He gave me 02036305457 but the call actually came from 02087528714. I told him I’d look into the number and he said I wouldn’t find it anywhere because it’s a helpline and not published. He said he could block unwanted calls from places like Japan and India. Since I’ve been a victim of identity theft before, I was really cautious and haven’t called him back.

We've had a bunch of calls from this number lately, with some bloke calling himself Steve Johnson saying he's from the Telephone Preference Management Service. My elderly dad, who’s 85, got one such call and they even got his number because they said they'd ring back. It's a bit fishy - does anyone know if there's a way to block this number?

Today, my 88 year old mum got a call from someone claiming to be from the telephone preference service. Ironically, we’d just been talking about annoying calls the day before, so she was convinced by the ‘friendly chap’. He even handed her a number to ring for verification! She ended up giving away her bank details because he said it was needed for her direct debit payments. It’s been a real hassle trying to fix everything with the bank for the past 30 minutes and my mum is really upset now. Watch out for this kind of scam!

Got a call earlier today from a bloke who said his name was David. He wanted me to verify my phone number, address, and postcode. When I asked him for his number to check who he really was, he gave it to me. Then he started asking about paying by direct debit and wanted the expiry date on my card. That’s when I told him I was hanging up.
Afterwards, I looked up the number online and found this site. They’re proper scammers, no doubt about it. I can see how folks might fall for it, but I’ve always been wary about giving out bank or card info.
What threw me off was the name David didn’t seem to match the guy’s background and his English was pretty dodgy too.

Loads of people with landlines say this number is dodgy. The bloke who rang me earlier this morning had a strong Indian accent and claimed he was from Telephone Preference Service. Since about 8.30 this morning, I've had these dodgy calls coming through, mostly silent at first. When they finally spoke, they tried to talk me into handing over my bank card expiry. What’s scary is they even knew my account number - how on earth did they get that? They acted like I'm already signed up with them, very smooth. The bloke on the phone even said the manager told me I could pay upfront and get a refund after 11 days, which sounds like a total con. They only stopped around 7.30 pm after I mentioned I’d be reporting them to the police. I rang my bank straight away and was told never to give them the card’s expiry date or the CVV code on the back. These people are absolute parasites, targeting pensioners and vulnerable folks just to steal their money - complete scumbags.

Mine was pretty much the same, but the call came from overseas. They had my old address and asked for my card expiry date, then my sort code and account details. When I said I’d end the call, they put me through to a "manager". They claimed for a single payment of £20.99 they could update my TPS to block all international calls forever. I checked with my bank who confirmed everything was fine.

I asked him for proof and he gave me a number, but when I checked 1471 it showed he called from 02871030659, which wasn’t in service. Then I phoned 02036305457 and got an automated message saying it was the Telephone Preference Management. Got a call from this number claiming to be from a call blocking service, said I needed to confirm a direct debit of £21.99. Seemed off to me. I rang my bank to check and they told me that banks usually provide guarantees and some kind of protection, so it’s pretty unlikely that someone can just set up a direct debit with limited info. Feels dodgy.

This number just rang me up as well. They were super persuasive, trying to confirm the expiry on my debit card under the pretence of reactivating some call preference thing. I messed about with them for about ten minutes, asking for their contact info to check their identity. They actually gave me a phone number, a name, and some ID which sounded legit. Unless you’re daft, don’t trust them or hand over any details. Total scam, watch out!

I had almost the same thing happen to me on 13/10/17 from the number 020 3630 5457, just last night. They said they'd charge my account £21.99. After chatting with my daughter, I reckon it's a scam, so I’m gonna let my bank know.

They gave me a helpline number 0203 630 5457 and even a name plus employee ID - Justin Jones - but honestly, his accent was very Indian, same with all the people I spoke to. This morning, around 9:20 on Saturday 22 July 2017, I got a call from this number. The woman on the line said she needed to confirm the expiry date on my card, which I’d used to set up the direct debit for my BT phone bill. She claimed she was with the Telephone Preference Service and could block all nuisance calls, both from within the UK and abroad. She gave me an address: PMA House, 170 Margaret St, London W1W 8SS. Just for a laugh, I asked what the weather was like in London, and she said she couldn’t see because she wasn’t near a window! Pretty sure she was somewhere in India. She called herself Jennie or something like that - total scam to grab your personal info. I ended the call straight away when she said she’d check outside!

Got a missed call from 02036305457, it showed as international on my phone. The bloke said he was from the call preference service and even had my name and address, which was pretty unsettling. He claimed he was calling from a London number and kept pushing me to confirm my address. I told him no, I’d look into the number online, then he just cut the call.

Had a call earlier from these scammers, and honestly, they sounded really convincing. They kept going on about upgrading my supposedly FREE service, and without noticing, I ended up telling them my bank sort code and account number. They kept insisting the service was free forever, but then mentioned a £21 setup fee! I kept telling them I never paid anything when I signed up, but they claimed the upgrade covered international calls too. Complete lies. When I finally said I wouldn’t give them a penny, their “manager” just hung up. I was shocked I'd almost fallen for their trick, they were so slick. Later, it hit me that a few silent calls lately must’ve been them trying to get through with their rubbish. I went straight to the bank, told them everything, and they added a note to my account. No direct debit has been set up yet, but they told me to keep an eye out and cancel anything suspicious straight away. They said any money taken would be refunded as well.

Had pretty much the same thing happen to me today (28/6/17) like the others mentioned here. Didn’t give away any details but the caller said their name was Sierrah Smith. Sounds made up to me.

This bloke called himself Ricky Smith and asked for the expiry date on my bank card. Of course, I didn’t give him any info. He got the address number wrong but I just played along. What a total con!

Got a call saying it was from the TPS asking for my card’s new expiry date. Obviously, it was a total scam. Don’t fall for it and definitely don’t share any details with them!

They rang me earlier today and, just like others have said, asked for my bank details and sort code. I was instantly wary. I'm really glad I held my ground and didn’t share anything. No one should be asking for that info out of the blue like that. Bit funny how they say they block these calls when they're the ones making them!

They claimed to be from the telephone preference service but when i didnt want to share my info, some bloke came on and got really annoyed when i wouldnt give my credit card expiry date.

Got a call about some sort of telephone preference thing, they wanted me to confirm my direct debit details. When I asked why they weren’t answering my questions properly, the bloke just cut me off and hung up after about 5 minutes. Definitely felt like a scam...

This number kept ringing my neighbour all day, saying they could stop unwanted calls and then asking for bank info. My neighbour didn’t give anything out but was pretty upset about how pushy they were.

I just got a call from a bloke claiming he was Brian Cooper from something called Telephone Preference Management, saying they were based at 70 Market Street, DMA House, London W1W 800. He was pretty pushy, insisting he could stop all unwanted calls if I signed up. I kept telling him I’m wary of people who ring out of the blue, but he kept arguing that at least he was giving a proper name and address, unlike others. When I asked how it all worked, he said once he updated my info, the block would be in place. Luckily, I stayed firm and told him the number he was ringing from isn’t even a London one, but he disagreed. In the end, I just said I don’t trust callers like him. Funny thing, he called me by the wrong name, but I didn’t correct him.

Had a few calls from this number and 01225335123 earlier on, they claimed to be from some telephone preference service. Asked for my debit card info to 'confirm' my account. I fed them fake details and funny enough, they said that was what they had on file. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

This afternoon, my gran was bothered by calls from this number. I happened to be there and spoke for her. The man claimed to be Alan Ball and insisted he was with a firm that blocks nuisance calls. He was very pushy, so I just ended the call. He called again and was quite persistent, saying he understood I was protecting my gran but that he was legit. He even asked for her bank details to verify her identity, which really upset her. They’ve phoned back four times in total. Eventually, I warned them I’d contact the police, and they hung up. These sorts of calls are targeting elderly people - best to stay well clear of them.

Got a call a bit ago from this number. After checking past comments, seems the caller said his name is Steve. When I looked up the number, it showed as withheld, so not much info on who it actually was.

Got a call from a private number, guy said he was calling on behalf of the telephone preference service. He already knew my name and address, which was a bit creepy. Then he asked for my card expiry date “to verify details” so they could set up the service. I asked for a number to ring him back, and he gave me 02036305457. Told him he was a scammer and ended the call, but still uneasy that he’s got some of my private info.

My mum, who's 82, got a call from someone saying he was 'Mr Jones'. It really disturbed her and she nearly ended up sharing some of her bank info before she managed to stop herself. She's quite shaken about the whole thing.

Got a call from some bloke pretending to be from the telephone preference service about blocking calls. He wanted my address and asked if I was getting annoying calls, then bizarrely asked if my debit card expired back in 2018 and requested my sort code and account number to supposedly activate a “free” service. I told him to find a proper job and feel ashamed for being part of a dodgy scam.

This number is preying on the vulnerable, particularly the elderly, claiming to represent the telephone preference services. They should be utterly ashamed of their deceitful antics!

this woman claimed she was calling from the telephone preference service (tps) and kept pushing me to hand over my bank direct debit info so she could withdraw money from my account, saying tps ain't free! I told her i’m thinking of ditching that landline anyway. they blocked their number, but i asked for a contact number just incase i changed my mind later. finally managed to get the number mentioned above.

I just don't get why some folks insist on calling back these total scammers. It makes no sense to me at all.

The caller blocked their number at first, but when I asked, they finally shared it with me. I tried to get their website, but apparently, they didn’t have one. Seriously, nowadays every company should have some online presence. It was something about Telephone Preference Management Services. After a while, they just gave up on my questions and ended the call. Looking them up on various “who called me” sites, it looks like this isn’t their first rodeo.

Got a call to my home phone from this number, some bloke saying he was "Martin Jones" but his accent was really thick and obviously from a call centre. He said he was updating their files to stop any more annoying calls coming through - which felt like a joke! When he asked for my card info, I got suspicious and asked him a few questions. He didn’t like that one bit and got quite angry. Ended the call straight away.
