A bloke with a thick Indian accent rang me, saying he was from the “technical department of Windows.” I just hung up there and then because Windows is a product, not a company with a tech team. It’s Microsoft that actually has a proper tech department. That slip-up showed me these scammers didn’t even bother to get their story straight to make it sound believable. Long story short: TOTAL SCAM, BEWARE!

Got a call from some bloke saying he was from Microsoft, telling me my computer was infected with a virus. They actually rang my wife’s mobile, but I happened to pick up. It's mad that these scammers are still pulling the same old scam. What really bothers me is how they managed to get hold of her number in the first place.

Today I got 7 calls from this number, and they've rang me loads of times before. I just ended up blocking it on my mobile and added it to my blacklist so I can check back what it is later. Feels a bit dodgy, like it might be a scam.

Got a call from someone trying to scam me by taking over my Windows PC. It wasn’t very clever at all - just the usual old trick about finding errors on my computer. Definitely one of those classic phishing attempts.

Some bloke called saying he was from Windows, wanting to fix my issues - thought that was rather kind of him! He asked me to look at my computer screen and describe what I saw. I said it showed an apple, so then he wanted to know if it was a Windows PC or an Apple one. I just told him to have a wild guess, then told him to jog on and ‘assist’ someone else instead (not in those exact words but you get the drift).

I really had no clue who it was, so I picked up and shouted “HELLO” super loudly a few times. They just hung up right away 😂😂😂😂

Some bloke from India rang up saying he was with Microsoft. He asked me to hit the Windows key along with the R key and tell him what popped up. I just told him there was nothing showing on my screen, didn’t follow his instructions, and he ended the call straight away.

I received a call from a bloke named James, who purported to be representing Microsoft and insisted there were problems with my computer. It was clear as day that this was a scam. He even tried to persuade me to download some dodgy software onto my machine!

Got a call from some Asian bloke saying he was with Windows and my computer had an issue. I quickly ended the call. Been watching loads of scammer payback vids on YouTube lately, absolutely top stuff.

This number keeps ringing but no one ever picks up, it’s so irritating. From what I’ve seen on other comments, it’s likely a scam. To anyone behind this, just stop wasting people’s time and maybe try sorting your own life out instead of this rubbish.

Was anticipating a phone call when this chap rang me with a strong Asian accent, saying he was from Microsoft and my computer had a virus. I told him I doubted it, but he kept insisting, calling me madam and saying my computer was infected. I explained that I use the West Midlands Police system at work - I’m actually a senior police officer - and he paused, swore under his breath, then just hung up. Total scam, watch out!

Some bloke called saying he was with Windows support. I figured I'd mess about and see how long I could keep him on the line. In the end, he gave up and hung up when he sussed I wasn't gonna get caught by his dodgy scam.

If I don't know the number, I just let it ring straight to voicemail. Someone told me it might be a scam or maybe just another annoying sales call. Either option puts me off, so I usually avoid picking up altogether. Best to be safe than sorry with unknown numbers.

They pretend to be from Microsoft and ask to get into your computer. Please don’t let them! It’s definitely a scam. If you give them control, they could cause serious problems. Microsoft NEVER calls you out of the blue - they only get in touch if you reach out to them first!

So these people called me saying my computer was at some huge risk or something and they needed to access the CPU right away. It was just a load of rubbish, honestly. Then things got really bad - they started making threats about hurting my family and all that nonsense. Proper scary stuff.

Got a call from someone claiming my computer had an issue. I decided to humour him. He asked me to tap some keys and tell him what popped up on my screen. I said there was nothing there. He then said I was just messing him about and questioned which keys I’d pressed. When I mentioned I couldn’t recall because of memory troubles, he rudely told me to knock my head against a wall. Lovely chap. Funny thing is, I don’t even own a computer…

Hey folks - just got a dodgy call again. We all know these scam calls won’t stop but why is it that phone companies don’t seem to do anything about it? Or better yet, why aren’t the government agencies cracking down on these fraudsters? It’s not like tech is beyond them nowadays!

Picked up the phone and some bloke with an Indian accent claimed he was from Windows tech support wanting to help with my computer. When I asked which company he was with, he didn’t really give a straight answer. He kept insisting it was something to do with my PC. I asked if it was Microsoft since they made Windows, and suddenly he just hung up on me. Typical scammers trying to get into your computer to nick personal info.
