Spotted this number on here and remember getting a call from it back in May. I ended up reporting it to Action Fraud because it sounded dodgy. They told me it’s actually a common scam that tends to pop up around the Tax year ending. At first I just ignored it, thinking it was nonsense, but the scary last part of the message kept me awake so I felt I had to report it. It’s crazy that the Police, phone providers or even HMRC don’t manage to block these menacing calls (and loads of others like them) from happening!

I've had calls from this number twice now, both yesterday and today, and it left a robotic voicemail. It mentioned some kind of case number and warned that failing to respond might lead to a second attempt to dodge showing up for a financial crime issue. The message urged me not to ignore the call and to call back, adding that if the so-called criminal lawyer in charge doesn't get in touch, they wished me luck. Quite the odd message!

Like some others have mentioned, the talk about a 'Grand Jury' was a clear sign to me. It sounded really intimidating and could easily fool you if you weren’t careful.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC's legal team. There was loads of chatter in the background like a busy call centre. They asked me for personal info but I wasn’t convinced it was legit, so I asked how I could be sure they were really HMRC. They gave me some staff number - HM11795 ext 019 or something. When I hesitated and said I wasn’t sure, they threatened to have me arrested and taken to court. I’m now contacting the real HMRC to report this - it definitely sounds like a scam or some sort of hoax.

I got a call from someone mentioning legal stuff, which honestly threw me off. So, I rang them back to find out why they'd contacted me. When I asked, they got really rude. Then they said the call was being recorded. Since I'm only 17, I told them that, and they said they’d call me later. I’m pretty nervous about the whole thing. We had this exact situation too, where someone rang up saying we owed more than £2500. The bloke kept threatening prison and told me to withdraw cash immediately or face arrest. I told him I’m 87 and have only one leg, but he was really impolite and kept insisting I was in deep trouble. He even told me to get a taxi and sort the payment right away. So I said I’d call my daughter, who’s a police officer, to come and get me. After that, he just ended the call. The guy’s name was Richard, if that helps.

Like a lot of people have been saying, I got one of those automated calls claiming to be from HMRC. When they gave me a number to ring back, it wasn’t any UK number, it was actually a Connecticut one (2076031108). Really suspicious!

Got a call from this number around 10:30 today. At first, I felt a bit worried. But after a moment to calm down, I figured a real official matter wouldn’t be dealt with by some scary automated voice. Loads of people have mentioned how risky these calls are. If someone’s ill or feeling really low, especially thinking about harming themselves, this could mess them up badly. The police or special crime units really should get involved with this stuff.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, total scam! They were so pushy and nasty, threatening me with arrest, losing my job and home, even freezing my bank accounts. They insisted I rush to ASDA to buy a Tax Pay Card right away to pay off some fake debt, or they’d send cops to my workplace within half an hour to arrest me. They also warned me not to tell anyone else, saying it was a criminal offence. I told them to go ahead and send the police if they were real, then just hung up. Such a nightmare!

I got a text on my landline with a case number and a warning not to ignore it, then they wished me luck like something bad’s about to happen. Honestly, I pity the people who actually believe this stuff!! This kind of nonsense really needs to be cracked down on.
