This number rang me on Friday, I picked up and they were clearly surprised. I told them I was tracking the call and had their ID. I even said the location where the call was coming from, then I hung up on them. They definitely picked the wrong person this time. I'm pretty tech savvy, so I know how to shut down their phone, computer, and servers - which is exactly what I did. No more messing with their IP or MAC addresses, they’re completely cut off now. Even Google would struggle to track them down anymore.

I received a call from this number at half past six this evening. The caller claimed to be from the pension service, wanting to ensure my workplace pension was functioning correctly since it appears I was still making contributions. When I pressed her on whether she was affiliated with the DWP, she hesitated and eventually affirmed it. I then requested some form of verification. She insisted she could provide it but ended up stating she would simply send papers through the post instead, before saying her goodbyes. At 68 years old and retired, I don’t even have a workplace pension, so I’m quite aware of the perils of unsolicited calls. I firmly believe it’s high time our authorities took action to curb these practices, as far too many, particularly vulnerable seniors, fall victim to such scams. Let’s all remain vigilant and avoid getting ensnared in these traps!

Some bloke rang saying he was from the 'Gas Boiler Department', but when I asked which firm he worked for, he dodged the question. Pressed him again and he had the nerve to say it was a government department. I told him no such thing exists, and said he just wanted to find out the age of my boiler. I warned I’d trace his number and report him to the ombudsman - then asked if he wanted to carry on the chat. He still went ahead! Proper daft and full of lies.

Told her straight up she was making it all up and every time this number rings, it’s a different “company”. I even mentioned (though it probably means nothing) that I’m on the TPS register. Just got off the phone with these people as well! Total idiots. They told me I'd won £10,000 and a Mini Cooper, plus I could join a group to win £100,000. I said no, and the woman started shouting down the phone, asking "why wouldn’t you want to win money and change your life?" While she was going on, I quickly searched them up and found this site. I told her they’re scammers and she got really rude, then passed me to her ‘manager’ who said I shouldn't believe any of it because it was all lies. So, I just ended the call. Spammed me non stop a few weeks ago even after I said I wasn't interested. Sometimes it’s a woman with what sounds like a South African accent, other times a guy who sounds Asian. I blocked their number, but it was only one digit off another they used. Now the calls started again this week so I blocked that number too but my phone still shows the calls being declined. These idiots have called me 17 times today alone! Honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without my phone’s call blocker.

Then, he handed me over to another South African woman named Faith - I could tell they were working from the same place as the background noise was rather repetitive. She went on about an incredible opportunity to purchase 165 lottery tickets each month for £39, reassuring me that payments wouldn’t start until April. Apparently, I’d also be part of a syndicate, and if someone else happened to win, I’d get a share. It all sounded a bit dodgy, so I decided to say I wasn’t interested. I’ve been bombarded with calls from these blokes, it feels relentless! Last evening, I finally lost my patience and engaged with a lady named Julie. I inquired if she could provide her name and address to me. The lady on the phone asked about the age of my boiler, so I said it was 8 years old and that I’d just moved into a new house of a certain age. She said it was a non-condensing boiler and asked if I was receiving benefits. I said no, and then she told me I qualified for a free boiler replacement through some new government scheme. Even when I told her I wasn’t interested, she kept saying someone would call to explain the scheme properly. After about 5 minutes of her talking, I just ended the call. They ring almost every day, but usually it’s my partner who answers.

Got a call from someone claiming I’d bagged a prize and asking if I fancied signing up for some monthly Euro lottery ticket scheme. I sussed it was a con straight away, so I started giving them rubbish info just to see what they’d ask for next. They wanted all sorts - bank info, address, the lot. When they asked for my bank details for a ‘direct debit’, I gave them total made-up stuff and kept pretending to play along. As soon as they hung up, I blocked the number. So, in a way, I ended up scamming the scammers! Lovely!
