Got a call from a lady who said my loan application was accepted and asked my name. I asked what the loan was for since I never applied for one. She quickly said she worked for a loan firm and wanted to offer me a loan. I told her I wasn't interested and she said thanks and hung up. Total scammers, very clear.

Weird experience here. I got a call from 08001836411 but there was nothing said on the line, so I put it on my block list immediately. Not long after, another call came through, this time from 02035823558, again just silent. I reckon these fraudsters just want to gather any info they can, acting like they’re from companies you’ve had dealings with to seem legit. Looks like they can spoof a bunch of different numbers too. I’ve added 02035823558 to my block list now as well.

This is nothing new - they rang me 4 times in just one day. Luckily I wasn't in, but I do have caller ID. Since I don’t have the option to block numbers, I just keep a list and assign them a unique ringtone so I always know to ignore them. Seriously, when will the TPS and phone providers take action against all these annoying calls?

I received a rather intriguing phone call from a business that had a name resembling "Eco Energy” or something along those lines. I promptly interrupted the caller mid-sentence and inquired about the postal address they believed they were dialling. They proceeded to share a postcode with me. When I pressed further for the complete address, the individual provided an address I vacated over five years ago, which I've kept my phone number attached to. I frequently receive calls from similar enterprises, all referencing my previous address when questioned, which is precisely why I've developed a habit of asking. The callers are invariably apologetic and assure me they’ll remove my information from their lists. I can’t help but feel frustrated and would love to uncover the company profiting from selling outdated information to these firms, causing a great deal of inconvenience for myself and countless others.

I've been getting calls from this number around four times daily. It's pretty obvious they're scammers pretending to be from some energy saving company. They don't take a hint at all! I'd recommend blocking this number on your phone if you can.

This number has buzzed me like 4 times in just three days. Luckily, my BT phone stops the calls from ringing or going to voicemail, though the screen still lights up so I can spot the number. I looked it up online and found it right here! Honestly, getting a phone with call blocking is a lifesaver - can’t recommend it enough.

Got a call supposedly about doing energy efficiency checks around our postcode. They said they weren’t trying to sell me anything. I mentioned I’m on the TPS list and they said sorry, must be something wrong with their call filtering. Then that evening, I saw a segment on Fake Britain about scams like this. Apparently, after these surveys, they suggest expensive home improvements but then vanish after taking big deposits, without actually doing any work.

I've received numerous calls from a so-called green energy firm, insisting that I'm entitled to government assistance for installing new windows and doors. I mentioned that ours are in perfectly good condition and quite recent, but the caller stubbornly insisted she had a record stating they were over a decade old-clearly inaccurate!

got a call from some bloke with a northern accent, said it was clean green offering free window tests aimed at folks over 50. but i dug a bit and found clean green upgrades shut down in 2017. turns out energy upgrades investments is still running under a similar name, same address, and probably the same people behind it. reported it to the tps. the more we all complain, the better chance we have of shutting these scammers down. so do your bit and file a complaint too!

this number keeps ringing the phone every day lately. when I answer, it just cuts off after a few secs. I tried calling back but the message says “this number isn’t in service.” since it’s definitely a london area code, I’d think ofcom could look into it and maybe shut it down. feels a bit dodgy to me.

I picked up the phone and some bloke with a strong northern accent said he was calling to do an efficiency check. He mentioned he was from something like “green clean” or maybe “clean clean” - couldn’t really tell or care, so I just ended the call. Total time wasters if you ask me.

Got a call from this number claiming they were doing some sort of survey about my postcode, which was weird because they already had my name and address. I just cut the call short.
