02035658790 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02035658790 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation impersonating the UK Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Callers, often with foreign accents from large call centres, falsely claim that a free TPS registration has expired and request sensitive bank or card details to supposedly renew or upgrade the service. Many targets have experienced silent calls, aggressive behaviour, or rude responses when refusing to share information. The scammers appear well-informed, frequently confirming personal details such as name, address, and payment methods, likely obtained from previous data breaches. Genuine TPS does not cold call, never asks for payments, and registration remains free. Recipients are advised to hang up immediately, avoid sharing any financial information, block the number, and report such calls to official fraud prevention bodies.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from India, saying my TPS subscription had run out and needed renewing, but they wanted to verify my card info first. What worried me was that the person already had the expiry date of my old debit card. I told them I never share card info over the phone and that I’d never given TPS my card details in the first place. They said they’d wait while I looked at my card but I just said no and they ended the call.

Got a call from some lady claiming to be from Telephone Preference Management, number 0203 565 8790, asking about annoying calls. She told me I was already signed up with them but wanted to check my bank info stayed the same. When I questioned her, she said they had my old bank details but needed the expiry date on my card to update their records. I told her I was hanging up right away cause it sounded like a con.

There was so much noise in the background, I barely caught what the caller was saying. He claimed to be calling from TPS and offered to block unwanted calls but wanted my card expiry date. Realising this was dodgy, I played along, told him I'd fetch the info and left him hanging for a bit. After a while, I said "Alright, here it goes, jot this down: Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty took a bad fall." Then he just hung up on me!

I got a ring from a woman with an accent, claiming to be from Telephone Preference Service. She gave me a number to contact, 08712700040, so I dialled it to verify. They told me that I'd have to pay £19 for TPS in the future. When I said that sounded dodgy, she just cut me off.

Received a call this morning around 0933 from a bloke with a strong accent that wasn't English. He said he was from the TPS and proceeded to verify my identity by asking for my name and then my address, including the postcode. As soon as he began prying, I realised it was a dodgy call, so I told him it sounded like a scam and promptly ended the conversation.

This number, 0203 565 8790, has been ringing me a lot today and in the past few weeks, but every time, it’s just dead silence on the other end. So, I figured I’d give them a little taste of their own medicine. For hours I kept calling back and not once did anyone pick up. I might keep it up just to annoy them for a while. Usually, I get some recorded message - probably from BT - saying nobody’s answered, but after a handful of attempts, it switches to saying the number can’t be recognised. Strange thing is, after pausing for a bit, you can call it again no problem.

These lot called us a few times, so my husband finally picked up. They said they wanted to update card info, so he replied all sarcastic like, "Oh absolutely. Just a sec, I'll fetch all my bank info for you. You can have every penny I’ve earned. Hang on." There was a pause, then the bloke muttered " bloody idiot" and put the phone down. Made me laugh!

We kept gettin' calls from these lot until my other half finally picked up. The bloke on the phone said they needed to update our card info, so my husband replied with a bit of sarcasm, like "Oh sure, just a sec, let me hand over all my bank details and everything I've earned to you." The guy was quiet for a bit, then muttered "idiot" and slammed the phone down. Proper funny!

Haha, my dad keeps getting calls like this all the time. So one day I picked up for him, and they wanted to talk to Mrs #####. I just said, "No, sorry, she’s not here!" They asked why and I coolly replied, "Because she’s passed away." They hung up straight away. Another time they rang again and I asked who they were, then when he asked me who I was, I told him “that’s none of your business.” He got quite rude, shouted some names, then hung up. We’ve blocked them now for good.

Received a call from someone purporting to be with the Telephone Preference Service, inquiring whether I was still getting annoying calls, which I acknowledged. The caller, whose accent seemed rather unfamiliar, assured me they would take care of it by tomorrow but seemed reluctant to engage in any deeper dialogue. I've forwarded all pertinent information to the legitimate TPS, but I’ll remain vigilant regarding any subsequent calls that may come through.

I've gotten a couple of calls from women with Asian accents. One said her name was Charlotte, but I missed the other lady's name. Received a call myself earlier today, and surprise surprise, it was the same old story. The caller claimed my telephone preference service had lapsed. I was quite wary right from the start, and when she inquired about my direct debit payments, I pushed back, questioning her motives. I mentioned that I’d just re-registered before the festive season. She then said she’d give me a ring back after she’d done some checking - I ended up leaving her high and dry on that one!

Typical story for me - I see the number on my caller ID but have no idea who it is. I answered, stayed quiet, and after about 10 seconds the line just went dead. This method usually works because I can see the number and recognise local area codes. Honestly, I’m a bit sceptical about how helpful these reverse lookup sites really are. Sure, they might alert a few folks that scammers are on the line, but honestly, how many gullible people are still falling for this stuff these days? Seems a bit over the top to me.

After giving it some thought, I’m pretty sure this call is connected to that TalkTalk hack from last year, since the caller seemed to know loads about me. I wonder how many folks on here are with TalkTalk too. It’s clear they grabbed all our info from that breach. I strongly suspect they'll keep calling, and I'll continue to stay mum. Got a call earlier from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from the TPS, saying he needed to update my info. He kept saying he worked for the TPS but wouldn’t share his name or any contact number. When I asked for their address, he gave me “2 Bridge Street, Berkshire,” which I knew wasn’t a proper UK location. I told him I wasn’t giving out anything unless he proved who he was. Eventually, he just hung up, telling me he hoped I liked all the nuisance calls I get, from both here and overseas. Definitely another dodgy phishing attempt.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said she was calling from the Telephone Preference Service. I told her she wasn’t actually from TPS, and then she just cut off the call.

Received a call from this number bright and early at 8:10 this morning. Unfortunately, we weren't able to pick up in time, and there was no voicemail left behind. I'm grateful to those who have shared their experiences regarding this number; you've certainly helped me figure out my next steps! - caller: 0203 565 8790

I just had a chap ring me claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service, all very official sounding. He started asking if I've been pestered by nuisance calls and then wanted to rummage through my personal details to supposedly update their records. I flatly refused, stating I wasn't going to hand over any information to a complete stranger. He tried to argue back, but I chose to end the call. Just a heads up for everyone-I've come across reports where these callers have managed to extract bank details from unsuspecting individuals. Be cautious! The number was 0203 5658790.

I got a call earlier from a bloke who sounded like he was from Asia, said he was from some telephone preference thing. He asked if I was getting loads of marketing calls, and I told him yeah, loads. Then he said he’d sort it out starting tomorrow. After that, he wanted me to confirm my name and address, which I found a bit fishy. When I asked why he needed that info, he just said it was to check. I pointed out he already had my phone number anyway, and he suddenly just went "alright" and ended the call. Definitely feels like another scam to me!

It rang twice earlier today. I ignored the call since it was an unfamiliar number.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from an official call blocking service, asking for some partial credit card information. It definitely struck me as a scam!

I've already received two calls from this number this month, and it's only Wednesday! We're on the Telephone Preference Service list, so it's a bit concerning.

We received a call from this number earlier on, and interestingly, our BT call-blocking phone stopped ringing altogether. No more incessant calls have come through since then!

I've encountered the same sort of conversation regarding TPS and credit card details, just like quite a few others have mentioned.

I’ve just received a call from this number. The individual on the line claimed to represent the Phone Preference Service and insisted on acquiring our credit card details to enhance the service. Quite suspicious, I must say!

I received a call from this so-called "business" just moments ago. It was just like the numbers listed on this site. The caller had a thick foreign accent and the call quality was quite dreadful.

Received a call from this number at 14:17, but when I tried to respond, the line went silent! Quite odd, really.
