The chap on the other end identified himself as Andrew, hailing from LINCOLNSHIRE OPINION POLLS. He seemed to have all my details-my name, address, and my phone number minus the initial "0" in the area code. His accent was distinctly Indian, and he mentioned that only positive responses would lead to further communication from his company. I promptly ended the conversation. This is now the fifth time I've received a call from this very number.

Today, I received a rather strange call at my father's residence. The person on the other end inquired if I was my mother, which, as you might imagine, was rather perplexing since she passed away back in ’96. I promptly informed them of this fact and then requested to know who they were and the purpose of their call. Rather frustratingly, despite my repeated requests, they decided to terminate the call before I could even tell them where to go! My father, unfortunately, suffers from severe dementia, and these unsolicited interruptions really aren’t helpful. He’s registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but that doesn’t seem to deter these nuisances; we seem to be inundated with such calls every week.

When I replied that I was not, and clarified that Mrs X had never lived, he insisted that I was indeed her! As far as I'm aware, Mr X has been breathing his last for quite some time, and I’ve since moved into his old residence. Despite my explanation, he persisted with his claims, even going so far as to accuse me of being less than truthful! I chose not to reveal my identity and, rather fed up, ended the conversation after stating I wouldn’t entertain such nonsense.
