Watch what you share with these fraudsters. My friend told them off pretty harshly. Not long after, the same caller rang again and started rattling off everything about my mate - where he was, what time, his address, account info, the lot. I've had this number ring me about five times over the past few days. Every time I answer, it just goes straight to voicemail with some background noises, but no one actually leaves a message. After that, they begin bombarding me with texts. Really annoying!

They started off by calling me by name and even mentioned that I own a timeshare. I asked if my resort had authorised their call, and they said loads of firms are closing down at the moment. I cut them off to say they were clearly doing some phishing scam. The guy snapped back, "No way, it’s not phishing, don’t be so damn rude!" So I just ended the call, happy knowing I’d really rattled him a bit :)

I’ve got my landline set up as ex-directory and it’s also listed with the Telephone Preference Service to fend off unwanted calls. However, at around 6:36 PM, I received a rather unsettling call where the person on the other end didn’t utter a word, just exhaled quite audibly. I’ve since added this number to my blocked list to avoid any further disturbance.

A number claiming to be from the Timeshare Advice Centre keeps ringing me. I've blocked them, but whenever they call now, they hang up straight to my voicemail and just leave it open with people chatting and laughing in the background - no actual message. They even tried texting me, but thankfully my phone flagged it as spam and blocked it. I'm planning to report this number to OFCOM, since that’s worked well for me against other nuisance calls before. It doesn’t take long to do, so I’d recommend others to file complaints too.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Microsoft, said there was a problem with my laptop and they could fix it. The bloke had a strong American accent and was pretty pushy. Told him I wasn't buying it, but it took nearly 20 mins to shake him off. He kept threatening that if I don’t "follow his instructions", he’d lock my laptop remotely and I’d need to re-register it with Microsoft. In the end, I just got fed up and ended the call!
