On the 30th of October 2014, I got a message on my phone that was rather unsavoury-no less than a barrage of expletives. I'm convinced it was from a bloke of Pakistani descent, as I could hear him hurling insults in Punjabi. If only that muppet had the guts to show his phone number or reveal who he is; it would be amusing to see if he’d still have the same bravado face to face!

I've received numerous calls from this number but haven't picked up, as it claims to be from London and I don't recognise anyone there. Just about five minutes ago, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to answer. I greeted them with a "hello?" only to be met with silence for a few moments before a voice chimed in, saying something along the lines of, "I don't get how I've got £7," before abruptly disconnecting. Quite peculiar, to say the least!

They tried calling my office number a couple of times, but as soon as I mentioned the name of my workplace, they hung up. Then, they called my home and asked for me; when my husband told them I wasn't around, they laughed before he ended the call.

I've been inundated with calls from this number, only for them to hang up almost immediately - beyond irritating! One can't help but ponder how many individuals might have close calls with their phones, hurrying to pick up, only to discover it's just another irritating sales pitch. It’s enough to drive anyone mad!

These irritating phone calls ought to be against the law and come with penalties - I’ve had a fair few from this number. What can I do to put an end to them?

I've already received three calls this morning, all about some industrial hearing impairment nonsense. On the initial call, I made it quite clear I wasn't interested, yet they persist in ringing me. I encountered the same situation a few months back. It seems they employ temporary staff to bombard us incessantly. It's got to be Specsavers or Click Hearing that’s passed on my number. Really wish I could uncover which one it is.

This morning, around 10:15 am (30/10/14), I received a rather odd call on my landline from this number. A gentleman insisted on speaking to me, yet when I inquired as to who he was, he remained tight-lipped. Now, mind you, I possess quite a deep voice, which elicited the rather rude response from him: "stop shouting you idiot." Just a few minutes prior, I had been contacted on my mobile by someone named Joanne, who claimed to be from "National Advice." When I mentioned the rude bloke who’d called me an idiot and requested to speak with a manager, she asked me to "hold on." I could distinctly hear her discussing my call with someone else in the background-there were the sounds of computers humming away. But before I could get any sort of response from Joanne, she unexpectedly terminated the call. Quite the experience, I must say!

I’m the individual who previously mentioned the bloke who rang me up and called me a fool. (30/10/14 @ 10:15am) I’ve sifted through the myriad of comments, and honestly, I’m horrified that this outfit (if you can even call them that) is allowed to carry on being so discourteous, pestering the general public, and causing me considerable distress while no one seems to be taking action! What happens to the elderly, those with learning difficulties, or anyone who might struggle with English? Surely someone like the Ombudsman or any authority that can identify these culprits should step in and safeguard the public from such behaviour. It’s high time we put our foot down with these individuals. Can anyone lend a hand with this situation?

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be from the Department for Work and Pensions. They inquired whether I'd ever been employed in a factory. Hello, I’ve received two calls from this number claiming to represent the National Advice Council. However, they hung up when I requested them to wait as I was on another line. After checking the comments here, it seems they’re just another form of unsolicited cold callers. I’ve registered with BT to block such firms operating in this country; it feels like a violation of the law. I believe it’s crucial for all of us to lodge a complaint about this!

Today, on the 29th of October, I had two frustrating calls on my phone. The first one came in around 14:52, followed by another at 16:17. It’s quite tedious, to be honest! My landline rang a staggering seven times between 12:55 and 14:22, and to add insult to injury, they hung up on me at one point! They also made two calls to my mobile during that same timeframe. They had the audacity to say they were from a national advisory centre or some such nonsense. What a nuisance!

Received a phone call from this lot, and the chap on the line claimed to be with the National Advice Service. Essentially, they seem to be those sorts who are keen to latch onto any potential claims, hoping to pocket a hefty 25% of whatever they can help you ‘secure’. After quite the verbal exchange regarding the previous holder of my number (it’s been over four years and at a totally different address), he mentioned he’d see to it that my number would be taken off their database. We’ll see how that plays out. If you wish to give it a go, they're listed at http://www.nationaladviceservice.co.uk or you can contact them directly at 01204 374930 to request the removal of your number.

Received a rather peculiar call earlier today where the chap inquired about my surname, reminiscent of a chat from Wednesday. I typically manage calls for an AA helpline, and this individual then insisted he required 'aa'-whatever that means. I shared some details, but to my surprise, he abruptly hung up, making it seem like he was just mucking about. This happened at 10:25, mind you! It’s rather alarming, as someone might genuinely need assistance at such a critical moment, and this sort of nonsense could potentially cost someone their life. I'm situated in Northampton, by the way.

My mobile has been getting bombarded with calls from this number that doesn’t even ring long enough for me to pick up. It’s become a right nuisance, getting at least two calls daily from mysterious callers. It feels as though someone is leaking my private info, and I’m at a loss as to how to put a stop to all this. I reached out to Sky for my landline and Vodafone for my mobile, but they seemed utterly disinterested in helping. Their only suggestion? Changing my number. Why on earth should we have to go through that hassle? It’s outrageous! These bothersome calls are a blatant invasion of our privacy, and why can’t they just leave us alone, particularly during odd hours?

I had a rather peculiar experience with a phone call today. A chap rang me up and inquired whether I was employed at a factory, then proceeded to ask me to confirm my address. Feeling rather uneasy, I decided to hang up. To my surprise, the cheeky blighter called me back, chastising me for my abruptness and claiming it was impolite to disconnect before he had finished speaking. He went on to threaten that a solicitor and a police officer would be visiting me at my home after work to discuss ‘matters of importance’. To be honest, I found his words quite menacing, especially as he neglected to provide his name or a callback number. It’s clearly a scam, and honestly, I’ve become quite cautious of such calls lately. I contacted the local police station, and they mentioned they’ve received numerous complaints about this sort of nonsense. I've had two calls from this number today. It definitely feels like one of those automated call systems where they just dial multiple people at once. The first time I picked up, the line went dead as soon as I answered. Then, the second time, a bloke came on the line and claimed he had identified me as being in a particular industry. Quite a vague assertion, really. I kindly let him know that I wasn’t interested in his assistance and requested that he remove my details from their list. However, he persisted with his script, asking me what industry I was supposedly in. I pointed out that if he knew I was in an industry, he should already have that information. I reiterated that I didn’t wish to receive any more calls. To my surprise, he responded with, "I don’t want to help a tosser like you anyway." Not the most professional approach! I’ll definitely be following this up.

I keep getting calls from this number, and they’ve already tried twice today. I picked up the first one, and a rather posh lady was on the line, asking if I was involved in any sort of industry. When I told her no, she confidently insisted that I must be. The moment she uttered the word 'industry', I realised she was likely about to dive into a spiel about injury claims. I chose not to pick up as I’d already perused the reviews left on this site! Rather than BT pushing their so-called 'Call Blocker' phones, which come with an extra charge for 'Call Minder', they ought to offer this as a complimentary service. Today, I received a rather peculiar call from this number. I've received four phone calls from this number since 10 a.m. on a Sunday, with the latest coming in at 16:23, which I decided to pick up. On the line was a young lady who fumbled my surname, yet had both my name and address to hand. She mentioned they were in touch because I had previously been employed in a noisy setting. When I queried why she was ringing me from a number based in London, she got a bit defensive and insisted that their head office was in the capital, but reassured me she was originating the call from their Dewsbury branch. I responded calmly that I wasn't interested and pointed out that my number is registered with the telephone preference service, requesting her not to bother me again. In a rather sarcastic tone, she simply replied with a "Bye" and disconnected the call.

Today, on the date of 24th October 2014, we received a rather peculiar call from this number. It seems the gentleman on the line didn’t quite catch that he was speaking to our answering machine, as he launched into what appeared to be a rather candid chat with a mate. The exchange went something like this: “Proper dodgy, innit?” “Have a butcher’s at this one.” “Received a message yesterday, right?” “She asks, ‘Are you about?’” “Right mucky mare, innit?” “Total skank, no question about it.” (repeated) “She says to him, ‘You fancy meeting up, yeah?’” “I said, ‘Get lost, I’ve got more important things to deal with, you cheeky cow.’” I’m keen to reach out to the manager regarding this utterly unacceptable behaviour, but I’m not quite sure how to go about it. Thankfully, I’ve saved the voicemail. Absolutely appalling!

Received a rather unexpected call about a supposed job in factories, claiming I needed a hearing test to ascertain if my hearing had taken a hit. It felt like they were just probing for information. Honestly, they come across as opportunistic leeches. I made it clear I had no intention of pursuing legal action against any of my former employers as they were all reputable businesses. Just a short while later, the phone rang again from the same number, but I chose to let it go to voicemail.

I dismissed their call twice in the span of ten minutes. A short while later, they rang again, so I picked up. To my surprise, I was met with this jarring blast of music before they abruptly ended the call. I've decided to give this number the silent treatment from now on.

I received a call from this number, but it was rather peculiar as there was no one speaking - just the sound of laughter in the background. The call lasted close to 15 minutes. I'd advise against answering it and suggest blocking this number altogether.

I received a rather peculiar invitation from an establishment calling themselves the "National Advice Clinic." They were eager to have me visit them for a complimentary consultation. Quite absurd, really!

I keep getting these bothersome phone calls regarding hearing assessments for those who were employed in factories ages ago. It's quite irksome, to say the least!

Received two calls from this number earlier today. When I attempted to return the call, I was met with an immediate disconnection. Looks like I’ll have to add another to the ever-growing list of blocked numbers on my phone.

I received two calls from this number within the span of an hour earlier today. We chose not to answer as we were engrossed in watching Groundhog Day. It feels as though these individuals are rather keen on reaching out, possibly with some ulterior motive?
