When I asked how they got that info, they just said they didn’t know and said sorry, promising to take me off their list. Honestly, T.C.P are useless! I’m registered with them but still get constant cold calls, it’s ridiculous. I managed to trace one of the numbers but trust me, there’s tons more and they all come from the exact same call centre. The real problem is the providers who can’t seem to stop this nonsense. They get the data before and after the cold call so it’s not that hard to sort out, but many don’t bother. It makes it tough for the decent ones trying to crack down. I just can’t understand why they haven’t tracked down the source and shut it all down for good.

I keep getting calls from these lot trying to sell free hearing tests, even though I’m not interested. Reported them to the TPS ages ago, still waiting to hear back. They keep calling for some bloke called Kitcher, which definitely isn’t me as far as I know. I’m also about to lodge a complaint with Ofcom, though I doubt it’ll make much difference. Not sure if this helps, but if they start asking for someone by name, try telling them that person’s passed away. I once used that on a dodgy group that kept hassling me, and it actually worked - they gave up pretty quick!

Got a call this morning, same time like every other day. It all started after I got a hearing aid from the hospital, feels like they sold my info off or something. Anyway, I told the guy I work in care, but he went on saying he’d send me a bill - and he already knew where I lived! I told him properly I’m not in any industry, but he didn’t listen, then threatened me saying he’d come round and “kick my head in,” called me some horrible names and said he’d keep ringing me all day every day. I rang the police because of the threats, they just gave me a crime reference and told me to phone my phone company. Called my provider, they said they can’t block the number but might change mine, which is a nightmare because I’d have to inform everyone I know. Then I found this reverse phone app, but you just end up having your info sent to the company harassing you. Honestly, such a shitty situation.

So, yesterday I rang a number I got from an old directory listing that was supposedly TPS registered. The person on the other end somehow knew my name and said I’d been working in some sort of machinery job. The moment they heard the answerphone pick up, they just hung up without leaving any message. Using 1471, I confirmed this was the caller's number. Honestly, who’s running OFCOM these days? Fourth time, they said they were from something called the “National Advice Centre” asking if I’d worked in the “Industry” or something. I was polite but firm, told the young woman not to try and fish for info and to take me off their list. Don’t hold out much hope for that, but I’ve added the number to my phone’s block list, so maybe that’ll help stop them pestering me. Sounds like one of those scam operations pretending to be legit companies, using official-sounding names just to coax info out of people for bogus claims. Pretty sure they’re overseas, I’ve heard Indian accents and sometimes they get quite rude. Asked TOPS about blocking these calls but apparently, since they’re not UK-based, they can’t do much about regulating them.
