Today, I received a phone call about a washing machine warranty that had supposedly lapsed. When I inquired which model they were referring to, they claimed it was an Indesit. The trouble is, I've never owned one! The caller then abruptly ended the conversation. What a peculiar experience!

This outfit appears to be peddling warranty insurance. I was assured the documentation would be sent through the post within a week or so. However, to my surprise, they insisted I make the payment using a debit or credit card over the phone. I mentioned I’d prefer to sort out the payment once I'd received the paperwork. Quite oddly, the chap on the other end then stated he was ending the conversation. It’s raising all sorts of red flags for me - feels a bit dodgy, to say the least. Just a heads up for fellow consumers! Additionally, I’ll be lodging a complaint with Trading Standards and the like.

I received a call from this number earlier today, claiming that my yearly washing machine insurance was up for renewal. When I mentioned that I had only purchased the machine four months prior, the caller stated he would update my records and promptly hung up. What records, I wonder?

The phone startled me with its ringing, but as the number was unfamiliar, I opted to let it roll over to voicemail. No message came through, and I have no intention of returning the call. Until I ascertain who’s on the other end and their intentions, they can stay in the dark... and honestly, they might remain just that!
