I've been receiving numerous calls from an unknown number. It's becoming quite bothersome.

Someone rang me pretending to be from Cancer Research UK, thanking me for supporting them last year - which I haven’t done. The only thing I’ve ever done is donate for work mates doing Race for Life. No clue how they got hold of my number. They keep calling non-stop, and I just either hang up or let it go to voicemail. Tesco Mobile told me they can only block premium rate numbers, and this isn’t one of those. They said I should report it to the police. You can contact Action Fraud at 0300 123 2040 or go online to www.actionfraud.police.uk. Real charities don’t hassle you like this.

Got a call from someone saying they were 'Cancer Research'. They told me I’d either donated or used some service in the past 6 to 12 months, which isn’t true at all. Then they asked me to donate straight away over the phone. No way was I giving my card details like that. Seriously, don’t hand over your card info on a call. It’s probably a scam.

I got a call from someone saying they were from cancer research and that I recently bought something from them, but that’s not true at all. They mentioned the call was being recorded and monitored too. I hung up before they could explain anything further. Feels like a total scam to me.
